Christmas Lights!

Who here is an X-Mas light freak? We have a guy around here who does his house up so much, PG&E waves his bill every December for him. He has his lighting set to music, which you have to tune your radio station into. Draws some crowds!

I am more into excessive lighting rather than music sync'd lighting, which is the new craze over the last few years.

I used to put up a lot more lights on the outside of my house but since the eaves on my house here are 40' in the air I stick to the deck railing and lights around the windows (put up with suction cups on the inside of the glass). I put a lot more lights on the inside now. I run a string over the mantle and several around the stair and loft railings.

I usually have between 30,000 and 40,000 lights up ..

didn't have time to do that this year, so I barely have 2,000 up.

I am going to redesign things, and do a big one next year to make up for it.

It has been pretty funny watching the neighbors try and keep up the last two years.

Why is it that no one is complaining about all the Christmas light contributing to global climate change?

Here were I live, the city does this thing they call Bright Nights. You'de figure that this would be a mojor target for environmental wackos. Not only are there tons and tons of lights on for aesthetics, but to view them you drive slowly around in your car.

There are a lot of people around here that have some pretty extensive displays. We don't even have a tree. I'm a bit of a bah-humbug. My girl has been telling me that we will have a tree, but not this year.
