I always go when I can. There's only six of us, well seven as of a few weeks ago, and the parties are usually pretty good. We all get along quite well, and dinners are either catered here at the shop, or at nice restaurants. Sometimes we even have a fish fry/etc at someones house. The only one I've missed so far (and was probably the best), was a day of fishing at a coworker's sister's place, and a fish fry that night...

I'm kinda anxious to see where we'll go for Christmas this year...

I hang around them ten hours a day, five or six days a week, honestly I don't really wanna drink beers and act like we're buddies one Saturday night a year.

Years before, it was a pretty lame affair, with lousy/cold food, no alcohol, and a boring speaker that'd put the whole room down in about 15 minutes. It's since improved a lot, no more speakers, live band, open bar, decent food, but now they book it at a place that's a lot smaller than the place they used back then, and everyone's pretty much crammed in like sardines in this place, but it is very nice.

So what about y'all?

I go in hopes to see stuff like this.

The best one was several years ago at one of my wifes. They brought in professional dealers and had various gambling tables. Gave us $100 worth of chips and we had a blast. (it was not real money gambling is illegal here). They also had an open bar and it got slightly crazy. One of the ladies got drunk, got on the table and started stripping. Her husband was non to happy, they almost got a divorce over that one. Then later a small brawl broke out. That was fun. Its been 12 years and that one is still talked about when we run into people who where there.

This year, her company is to small employee wise, there is only 9 people in this office, they probably wont do anything. If they do it will just be a private dinner during company hours. The supervisors all go to church and are involved with that, so no mater what it would be dry.

Thats what we are doing too, during business hours. There is about 50 of us at my office and we are having some stuff catered in plus a potluck, I know there will be briscuit and ham. Plus Jello shots, and a few other adult beverages for those of us who won't have to go back to work.
Everyday is like a party anyway, so when we include alcohol, things really get fun.

I have to go every year because I am family. It's a family run business but the parties are always great. 10 of the 18 people in our one office are related and the one's that aren't have been with us for a long time. My dad and I always try and change things up and make it more interesting then the year before. One year we did the gambling thing and I had a few friends be dealers. We have gotten Magician/ comedians. This year we are doing the same as last year. We've booked the party on an old BC ferries boat that has been converted to a fishing lodge and have put the rooms on the old car deck. We have dinner/ dancing/ drinking and you can go crash downstairs when your ready. Your down on the Fraser river with all of the lights of Vancouver in the background it's really nice.
