New Guy

Well hello, I guess you could call me a new guy here. I've been around quite awhile back when I had my first F-150, but never signed up. If you care to read I'll let you hear my story.
Well it all started out when I was about to turn 16 and I wanted a truck...but who has money when there 16? Well I had about $4grand saved up from working since I was younger... anyways I went truck shopping. So I looked...and looked...and looked and finally found a 1997 Ford F-150 4.6L V8 with 265,000 miles.. yes thats 265,000 miles, for $3400. I bought it

I added straight pipes, some chrome, a brushguard, some rims/tires, etc. It was sweet and got the job done, but I got annoyed of the exhaust manifold leak.. that tickatickaticka noise... so after 4000 miles I put it up for sale and got $6,500 for it.

So... I needed a new vehicle and it was summer and warm and everything so I said lets get a mustang...

so.. I got a mustang for $6,000 I'm 16 and I thought it would be pretty sweet to get a car thats 5" from the ground to the bottom of the bumper.. I live in Minnesota... The mustang had a full molded body kit, 18" baccarat rims, sumitumo tires, pioneer headunit, Flowmaster exhaust, etc.
Once I bought it I knew i shouldnt have.. I replaced wheel bearings, the A/C, fuel pumped..the list goes on.. I decided to sell it... I just recently sold it for $6500 and am now driving the family beater... A 1992 Dodge Spirit, which is junk...
Thanks for reading, Jake

You just should have fixed the exhaust manifold leak, & thrown on a dual setup while you had it appart!...............

Keep driving the beater for a while - the longer you save up, the better truck you can buy when it's time and it's WONDERFUL not having payments. I bought mine a year ago for 7700 bucks with 55k on it. Nobody wanted it because it's a V6 with a stick, there was nothing wrong with it.

I have about $8200 saved up in the bank, and I could get a nice truck for that with higher miles. But I'm just going to wait for the right one
