Right now it is 8.2F where I am living... my windshield isn't cracking... oh wait... it is 72F out in my garage. Dang it.

It's sad... it is usually 1 to 2 degrees warmer in my garage than it is in my room...

Yep, the same as it was when I was in a few years back. Auto glass was its own policy with its own deductible. Never seemed fair then as it doesn't now.

Some rock hit my windshield and left a nice shatter mark the size of a half dollar. It really ticks me off, but I think I'm going to leave it unless it cracks more with the winter weather. Hopefully I won't have to replace it. If I do, I think it is going to be cheaper coming out of pocket

Who knows if it cracks I'll talk to my dad about replacing it so it can pass inspection. Plus it's on the darn driver's side right above the windshield wiper

Well, at least it can be fixed

More than likely there was a rock chip or tiny crack that he never noticed, when the weather got cold, it cracked. This has happened to us before.

I have USAA also and have had a windshield replaced with them. Yes I had to pay the deductible but my deductible on my Comprehensive coverage is only $50. USAA rocks! We have vehicle and homeowners insurance and our checking and savings accounts with them!
