Yep. An apple, orange, few pecans, walnuts, some candy, and some little, age-dependant, present (matchbox car, pen, cologne, etc.). And now that I'm married, the tradition continues in my house.

Yep yep...oranges and apples usually with some cashews or peanuts. Also, like NyteHawk, a little trinket or something.

We do that...kinda depressing for a kiddo, but I like it now that I'm grown.

I liked it as a kid. Guess I was always hungry! It was in addition to toys, etc.

When I was a kid that's what we got in our stockings too. Apple, orange, candy and maybe a small toy. I was about to ask if fruit and nuts might be a German tradition because my family is half German. I decided to look for myself and found this

All your threads have done is report the news. We can look at Yahoo or Fox for that!

Don't know where you grew up; but, that's exactly what we had in our stockings come Christmas morning. Presents were under the tree.

I grew up in central/southern Texas. Right between Houston and SA about 90 miles from the coast.
