Just bought me an AK

So in order to keep my quota of one new gun every 4 months, and to help keep myself occupied for a few more months until I turn 21, I went out and bought myself an AK-47. Never fired one, and this will be my first semi-auto firearm, so I'm looking forward to picking it up.

Any AK fans out there?

This is legal?

And if so, why?

Why on earth would you need this? Are the deer and bears shooting back with M-16s?

Nice purchase. Nevermind the haters. If I had a place locally where I could shoot it, I'd either get an AK, or an AR. How much was it?

Depends on FL law, and what the legal age for purchasing a firearm is (not 21 yet?) It's a semi-auto, not full auto, so it's really not much different from a "deer rifle", but just because it looks a certain way (assault rifle), people think it's more dangerous. A gun is a gun, designed to kill. The person holding it is what decides what that bullet hits; a deer, a paper target, or another person......

You might need to move back to L.A.

I have bought two at the guns shows around here. Bought them right after Osama Bin Ladin decided to ram airplanes into Towers One and Two killing my Wife's brother and a few thousand others.

Come on Osama, show up on my doorstep.

I hate AKs.

Ergonomically, they just don't do it for me. The horrible sights, gotta break your firing grip to manipulate the safety or change mags, super short length of pull, minute of barn door accuracy...

But, they'll most certainly sling lead downrange well enough, and they're fun.

He bought an AK which is just a semi automatic rifle. Its not an assault rifle, it is not a full auto or 3 burst select fire rifles.
Most states don't allow semi's for hunting but they are a great rifle for target shooting and plinking.

Kobi, if your living out in the boonies you should own some kind of firearm. You are responsible for your protection from wild animals and thugs.

Why, abso-damn-lutely, in jiggle's state. Matter of fact, transferable, full auto AK47s are legal there too if he met the requirements listed by .gov and by the local law enforcement.
