There seems to be some confusion in this thread, most of which appears to be coming from North of the border

This rifle is semi-automatic. That means that it fires one time for every time the trigger is pulled. It is no more powerful than any other hunting rifle in a similar caliber (actually, AKs are a bit underpowered), nor does it have a faster rate of fire than any other semi-auto gun of any type. It is simply an affordable, very reliable, and fun weapon. Just because many bad people have used them for horrible causes doesn't make everybody who owns one an accident (or incident) wating to happen. Give me the most destructive weapon in the world, and I still would never use it against another human unless it is to protect myself or my family.

yeah the .50 cal doesnt have to be Acc. when if it comes within about 2-5 inchs of anything it rips it apart. i think itd still be funn to have go up north and shoot it at my buddys cabins or something. i think id have to reload my own ammo with that thing. like i said my brother was in the marines not the scout sniper or anything but im sure he could help me alot. the .50 cal bullet it self will fly 7,350 yards. about 73 1/2 football feilds but the scope is no were big enogh to do that. oh well id still love to have one.

Hey, no offenses here fellas, God knows I'm not trying to **** people off who actually have these things Ya, you're right, here in Canuckland, we don't exactly experience alot of guns etc. That, for a number of reasons, one of which is the fact that every Canadian can populate NYC alone, our laws are different and you'd have to replace either the beer in one hand or the hockey stick thats in the other!!!! Kidding. I just always thaught AK's were already illegal or requiring special permitting, that's all. It all boils down to the one firing it I guess.

Not personally but it's on my short list of things to do. I bought a parts kit and once I get a receiver will dive into it head first. You can buy a pre-bent receiver or of you're adventurous you can buy a pre punched flat and bend it yourself. I want to go that route as it's pretty hard core. AR's are like leggos, AK's are like erector sets. If you build one just be sure that the parts count complies with 922 (r) of title 18 USC. PM me if you have any questions and I'll be glad to answer them. Or if you want start a new thread, just PM me a link so I don't miss it. LOL

I havent read all the posts. So I hope you havent answered this question. Where is it made? I have a NORINCO MAK-90(AK-47). They had to change the name and remove the flash suppesor in order to sell it back in "97. I bought in NM also. This thing has never failed. Why do I have one? Because I can! Besides, its cheap to shoot. Uses steel casings. Plus it is one beautiful weapon. I also have an SKS with bayonet, 12 & 20 gauge shot guns and a 45 acp.

Don't hold your breath, there are a number of ignorant people here pushing for registration and confiscation here in the states, despite the fact that it is unlawful and the latter unConstitutional.

The only "registered" firearms here in the US are 1. Class III weapons (full auto) and 2. Some states/cities require people to register weapons that will be carried concealed. States like Commiefonia are AFU and require registering of just about everything. It hasn't helped with their crime rate at all.

a lot of people on here don't know what guns are

i have shot a FULLY auto AK-47 and dear God it is such a rush, accuracy sort of goes out the window though and thats why i like the M16 better, but my favorite rifle is the M14, shots the the 7.62 yet is more accurate than the AK-47, and i like the rifle grip better than a pistol grip for some odd reason

but then again every time you shot a gun your reminded that it was designed to kill

I have worked in hospitals for 15 years. I have seen more deaths and injuries by stabbing and drunk drivers than all the shootings combined. They are not going to ban knives or alcohol anytime soon. I think that because a pistol/rifle harnesses so much power in pounds of force that it is feared(specially by those who have never known or been around firearms). You could be killed with a hammer, a pen, poisoned by improperly cooked food, slip and drown in the tub. Yet nothing stirs up a fury, and raises more money than telling people that firearms will be banned. It is an attention getter. I was told by a gun shop that Clinton actually increased sales of firearms than Bush ever has. the fear of knowing it might eventually become illegal is what keeps the gun industry thriving. If someone does not like firearms usually means that they know nothing about them(fear of the unknown). Thankfully we can drive what we want, buy what we want(whether we need it or not) and eat what we want. That's what makes The U.S. nice. Is everyone responsible enough to own a firearm? NO. will you have some idjits doing stupid things with firearms? YES. Enforce the laws we currently have and stop coming up with ways to ban something that is already heavily enforced. JMO

You nailed it. The reason that gun ownership is such an issue is because they are the only thing that you can go to Walmart and buy, that is solely designed to kill (excluding Raid, etc...). With big cities and desk jobs becoming the norm, not many people are raised using guns anymore. I never fired a gun until I went out and bought one. Now I'm hooked. Most of my friends are the same way. It really drives me insane knowing that the huge majority of people who are anti-gun have never even touched one before.

I took this girl out shooting a couple months ago that I was very close to back in high school. Your typical Jewish Liberal. She only shot the gun a couple times (12 gauge was a little big for her lol) and she seemed to enjoy it. Later something came up about CCW of a handgun. She told me that when she moves to NYC for school she would probably get one. I told her that I will be getting one as well when I turn 21. She had the nerve to tell me that she should be allowed to have one, but I shouldn't. When I questioned her logic, she responded with something like "Well, New York is more dangerous than it is down here." I went crazy. I said "So because you're willingly moving somewhere that's more dangerous, you have the right to protect yourself, but I don't?!"

Then I went and won the argument by informing her that because of her liberal buddies, it would be almost impossible for her to get a CWP in New York City.

Oh and Mrsquirrel, where you been? You should head up this way some time and we can go shoot the crap out of watermelons or something.
