Took the words right out of my mouth.
4wd is for soccer moms and pansy men.
Real men know how to drive so don't need it on the road.

Let's all join the 4x2 club...As I like to say, "4x4 will only get you get stuck further back in the woods."

Hmm yes and in the 5 years I had it, I only used 4wd on the road twice.
Once was busting snow drifts from plows where they cleared 2 lanes of a 5 lane road in 2' of snow.... the drifts were 4'-5'+ deep. I opened another lane up plwing it with my bumper and grill...

Second was pulling an Astro van out of a deep ditch on ice "I was pulling up hill too".
If you want to count the time in the driveway as "on the road", that time I pulled a 2 1/2 ton, dually with 14' flat bed, loaded with 2 cord of wood, up my drive on ice with it.....
I'd consider my drive kind of a road....... I did use it then and I didn't get off the drive way... so technically I guess that time could be included.
I used it many other times, but those werent on the road and those were only when I had too, I always hated admitting I couldn't make it and taking a ribbing from the guys, especially if they made it with out a crutch..

I had my truck in 2wd and the back end was sliding all over the place. Once I stuck it in 4wd everything was great and no more rear end slipping from a stop. I could have just used 2wd but 4wd just made things so much easier.

I rarely use 4 Hi when driving. It would have to be pretty bad out. I used 4 hi once this year but it was very windy out and very slush/icey out. If you don't need to put it in 4 hi don't cause your just burning more gas.
