I am sure it cant be done today, but back in 1967, the local police ordered a black Dodge Coronet with the Police Interceptor package on a 440 Hemi BB and a 3-spd automatic along with dual 4-bbl carbs and 60 series tires. This was intended to be a chase car. It said 185 mph on the speedo but the local police already tested it to have cleared 200 mph as the dealer was able to show my dad the proof. Problem was the local PD didn't have the budget to follow thru on the purchase. My dad strolls in there with his 64 chevy to get some maintenance done, and the dealer offers him the Dodge for the Chevy plus $1100, brand new, and painted yellow now.
375 HP, 500 TQ, right from the factory. 11:1 compression
Is it even possible to go into a dealer today and literally order a street car with the Police Interceptor package? I am thinking not but stranger things have happened.

It definitely isn't a new class of mustang, since it was named for the car Steve McQueen drove in the movie: Bullitt. That was a '68 GT. It just appeals to me for its iconic class.
15 more ponies over the GT, 5 more lbs. of torque, factory CAI (open element), factory tuner (the computer can sense octane levels and tune the car accordingly), and better suspension components. Is may not really be that special, but its enough for me. Will I get one? Probably not. The Boss (wife) has k-lined any vehicle trades/purchases.
Write up on the Bullitt.
And w/ 7,700 production models in 2008, if I were to persuade my wife to let me get one, I stand a better chance vs. attempting to get one of the rumored 1,000 production model BOSS Mustangs due in '09 or '10.
