i remember my first concet was when i was 15 i think, it was at Rockfest '97 or '98 i can't remember........i was wondering if anyone living in the DFW area went to that...it was a two day show, with a LOT of great rock bands from the '90s......it was at texas motor speedway, right after it was built, but i dont think the parking lots were paved yet, and it rained the last night, and EVERONE was stuck in the mud. it was frickin awesome...did anyone else go to that?....
it was like bush, no doubt, the nixons, sugar ray, paula cole, counting crows i think, umm i can't even remember.

I used to be into the punk scene and I've seen Pennywise twice and both times they put on an excellent show. Rancid also is great live. I saw Third Eye Blind a few years ago, and they rocked. I'd love to see them again but I'm not sure if they're even still together. I saw Brooks and Dunn and Alan Jackson two weeks ago. I'm pretty sure it was a good show, but I was trashed and it poured the whole time (lawn tickets) so I really don't remember. Sucks beacuse I love Brooks and Dunn.

In all, I've probably been to 15 concerts. NTM I used to play in a band so I've been to numerous local shows, some of which included bands that are now doing nationwide or world tours.

I forgot to mention that I've seen Sugar Ray twice and they were awesome. The second time really stuck with me because Mark Mcgrath started talking about US Servicemen and how they sacrifice for us and how every time he sings the song "Fly", that's all he can think about. He actually started crying while singing it. Seems like a genuinely good guy.

The best concert I've seen was Big Head Todd and the Monsters at the Gypsy Tea Room in Dallas. They are awsome live. No frills show, they just play and always sound awesome. Not one of those bands that sounds horrible live. I've seen them there three times. The last time Carbon Leaf opened for them and they were good also.

thanks, I like to think so

I took a look through my old ticket stubs and came up with a few more.

Matt "Guitar" Murphy (Blues Brothers)
JJ Cale
David Lindley (with Ry Cooder. Just the two of them on stage)
Ray Charles
Joe ****er **(edited to add)I can't believe this got censored. How ridiculous is that? I guess I'll have to call him "Joe Roosterer"**
The Tubes
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers(they were on tour with Dylan, the first time I saw him, as his band. It was over three hours of non-stop music. They started out all together, then, T.P. & HB by themselves, Dylan solo accoustic and finally all together again.)

Plus a bunch of Canadian bands you've probably never heard of, but, are quite well known here in the Great White North:
Chilliwack
April Wine
Colin James
Jeff Healey
FiftyFour40
Blue Rodeo
Ian & Sylvia
Ian Tyson
Danko Jones
Murray Mclaughlin
Fred Eaglesmith

maybe my tired old brain will come up with a few more after Hockey Night In Canada and a good dose of Don Cherry.

regards
