Stupid question...

So today I was standing with my buddies talking about trucks and a teacher walks by and hears us talking about trucks. He turns around and starts laughing, asking us why we were wasting our money on trucks and accessories. We just told him that it was one of our hobbies/ addictions and he just laughed more.

My question is how do you guys respond to questions like this from ordinary people. Instead of trying to start a fight and give a solid answer. Whats a good reason for lifting your truck and everything. Thanks

Just ask, why not?

Should have replied:
We've got extra money and it's either mod the truck or drink beer. What would you suggest?

Welcome to the real world! You must be young. My first thought was that the teacher was right...you should save your money for college, or invest it. Then I thought maybe I should save more for my daughters college, or put more money into my 401k rather than in KR Screw. Then it hit me! Screw the teacher! Its your money...spend it how you please. Its your money, unless you are voting for Hillary, then its not really yours, its the Governments. You should then beg the liberal teacher for forgiveness, and thank them for showing the error in your ways.

For the most part it's a simple difference of opinion. Is putting money into a truck/car a smart FINANCIAL decision? Hell freaking no.

But is putting money into a truck purely a financial decision? To him? Maybe. to you (me/us) ? Hell no!

We do it because that is what makes us happy...if he's that old and still can't figure something like that out, well he sure hasn't learned as much in his life as he *thinks* he has.

I'd walk in to his classroom on Monday, set an apple on his desk and say:

Thanks for laughing at me for spending my hard earned money on something I really enjoy, now I know why you're a teacher and not a guidance counselor.

I agree with Quintin. I waste my money on beer, guns and my truck. You know why? Because I can, and it makes me happy. The way I see it is if I'm working and going to school, why can't a spend a little extra cash to get what I want while I don't have to pay for crap like kids or a mortgage?
