This says it, the bleeding hearts pretty much run things up here. They're more concerned with criminal rights then victim rights. That being said, it was my garage they chose to break into. While I would have been pi$$ed to lose all the stuff I've spent years buying, there's nothing in there that can't be replaced. If I had seen them I probably would have just called the cops and watched them through the kitchen window. Now, if they had chosen to break into my house that night, the population would have been reduced by 1 or 2.

Nobody will threaten the safety and security of my family in my home.

That's funny! We think the bleeding hearts pretty much run things down here too! There are some fundamental differences in our countries laws and, unfortunately, even in the way we think. Many of us, down here, think your country is wrong. Many of you, up there, think the same of us. I guess we are a little more violent! But, to spend years of your life, years that are not replaceable, buying things you and your family need, only to have them stolen from you, is a crime that is akin to stealing part of your life. No one should be able to do that to another. Violent or not, we take pride in being able to help enforce the "Thou shalt not steal" commandment!

More and more States are enacting the "Castle" laws. Canada has, quite often, followed our lead. I'm sure that no one down here will be offended if you guys do it one more time!

It's a shame when the victim is the one with fewer rights. Things are changing up here though, there's been alot of pressure on government to toughen up the laws in light of some recent violence that made national headlines. The minority government can't get their crime bills through because the opposition feels the punishments they want are too severe. They have no problem though, with someone breaking into your home, beating you unconscious, and then start carrying your stuff over your body and out of the house.

If I protect my home and get them first, then I do more time then they would have gotten.
