They may use the same laser, but run different software that is more antiquated. I have been in medical sales for the past ten years, have been trained on everthing from needles and band-aids to Ultrasound, ECG, Hematology, Immunology, and Chemistry. Computers have gotten smaller, faster, more affordable. If you wanna say that the Laser of today is the same as of 12 years ago, go ahead. No skin off my back.
You are so full of it I can almost smell it through my computer. It kills you to think you don't know something. I've figured it out. YOU ARE THAT GUY!! Everyone knows THAT GUY. You know everything about everything. It usually takes you a week or so to figure them out at work, but once you know you get to stand around with everyone else and make fun of THAT GUY. Coworkers start to act like you and make up outrageous stories to try to top you. Then when you walk around the corner unexpectedly everyone gets quiet. I love it!

You don't read posts completely; you merely pick out the point you want to jump on and spew about. You completely skipped the part about 20/20 vision I know have after 12 years. I won't dispute the technology but the results for me have been wonderful. Maybe I should have waited and dropped your name to your Lasik buddy in Austin to get a better surgery. It would have been worth it to sit around and trade turns acting like you 1 upping everyone and have a bunch of laughs. I'd worry he would chuckle thinking about it and not be quite so accurate. This has made my night... I'm smiling!!!

hey s2krn, chill out man.

Shines is 100% correct in his statement that the technology used in these procedures has indeed greatly advanced in the past 12 years. There can be no disputing that. I don't think that Shine was disputing your claim that you got good results.

No need to get all defensive, nobody's trying to one-up you. Perhaps you should take your own advice and carefully read each post all the way through.

Crap, here I go, making you think that I am trying to get the last word. Never tried to SKIP the 20/20 part, you said:

I just pointed out, since the technology was better, your vision would be better. I see 20/13. It is not that I am better than you, its because I did not have the money when you did, and I had to wait longer. Hence, being lucky that the technology had advanced, and mine was 20/13. You may have missed this part.

These lines are full of contradictions...where to begin.

All I did was reply to your post, so that the guy asking about Lasik would understand that advances had been made. Heres what I replied to your post:

You got the old school surgery. Got mine two years ago, and no halos around the lights at night. I see 20/13! Best thing I have ever done for myself.

It was not my intention to insult you. I apologize for that.

Since you think that I am "That Guy", I am sure you will be back to see if I tried to get the last word.

I had that done 9 years ago, had 20/200 vision after the surgery I had 20/10 and i still have 20/10 to this day, if i could only have one thing to spend on for myself that would have been it, and given the results I feel it was worth twice what I payed, Just dont go cheap get a good place and do your reaserch, you only have one set of eyes.

the only thing I regret on it is not doing it sooner

I had LASIK in June 2004. Cost me $3950 for both eyes, and I dont regret it for a minute. Best decision EVER!
