I believe in supernatural phenomena. I once passed gas in a crowded elevator and everyone said "Jesus Christ!" in unison. It was a spooky situation. I blamed it on a fat chick.

That's what you call "seeing the light", or cloud in this scenario.

I used to work in what's supposed to be a haunted building (documented). Even the University of Toronto had ghost busters come in do do their studies.

I personally never saw or experienced a thing, and that wasn't for lack of looking on dark spooky nights

"I was walking with my father through the forest of the Schetcken Tahl. When I saw this bench, I was overcome with a feeling of loneliness and felt sorry for the bench; so much so, that I felt compelled to take a picture of it, so that it would never be forgotten. Strangely, I talked to the bench as I was taking the picture. There was nothing that I could visibly see when I took the picture. But when the print came out, I could see this man shape on the bench."

Bloody Mary

This is a popular legend that you may remember from your childhood. The Mary Worth story--also known by such names as Bloody Mary and Mary Margaret--is popular at sleepovers. As the story goes, a beautiful young girl named Mary Worth suffered some sort of terrible, disfiguring accident (or occasionally the wounds are inflicted purposely by a jealous party). From then on, other people shun her due to her ugly face. In some versions she becomes a witch.

Now for the scary part. Supposedly if you say Mary Worth's name three (or five, or ten... it varies) times while looking into the mirror, Mary Worth will appear and scratch your face off or kill you. She is exacting a hideous revenge on the undeformed people who made fun of her in life.

The great Clive Barker movie Candyman is based on this sort of legend.

Having never actually had any ghostly experiences, I can't say I truly believe. I know there are some weird, unexplained happenings out there, could be ghosts, could be someone's overactive imagination. I guess I'll believe it when I see it.

(1/2) Even though it goes against my better judgement I am going to stay up and tell you my story. Everything I about to say is 100% from my childhood. It's long but if you are intersted in ghost stories I guarantee its worth it.

I grew up my hole life in a town with less than 1000 people and wen I was 6 years my nieghbour 2 doors down from us died at the age of 47 in the basement of the house. His name was Wayne. The paramedics told us he was dead before he hit the ground. He left a wife and a son that was close to my age at the time. Shorty after he died the wife and son moved to the city. Some other people moved in for 2 years and when the house came up for sale again my parents ended up buying the house when I was 8 years old.

We were living their for a couple months when I woke from my sleep in the middle of the night in the basement and decided to go get a glass of water from up stairs. (When you walk up stairs it has a clear of the living room). When I walked up the stairs I saw him sitting on the couch, with his legs crossed on the coffee table, left arm up on the arm rest, and right arm across the back of the couch. I didn't know what to do at the time so I turned around ran back down to the basement and hid under the covers.

The next morning I told my mom and she thought I was after attention and was talking out my ***. A couple days later I got up in the night and went to go take a leak and there he was standing by the bathroom door. I ended up walking right threw him and didn't realize it because I was half asleep. I finally realized it when I was rinsing my hands off and started to shake in fear. I shoke all the way to bed, so scared I couldn't even scream. I told my mom again and she still didn't really believe me that much.

It toned down for a couple months at that time until I started seeing him right in front of my bedroom door, every night. Mom thought I was wack job and started to read some books about ghosts. and was reading up about "cold spots" (where ghosts like to stay, there is a noticeable temperature change that you can feel). Well sure as chit where I was telling her that I was seeing them, they were deffinite cold spots that if ou stood in them for a second you could feel. Some may argue that the heat may not circulate or whatever, but I had the register taped up in the basement because I like it cool when I sleep. So the only way the heat would be able to come in is through the door where the cold spot was/is.

When I was in the 4th grade my mom got the name of a lady who called her self a "ghost buster." She is the writer of ghost stories of Saskatchewan. She was an older lady who came free of charge and she could speak to them (ghosts). Both me and my sister were still young at the time and would get fieghtened when just going into the basement. We told her the cold spots in the basement and she found him pretty quickly. (This is when my parents became completely sold). The lady came out balling her eyes out and was saying that he doesn't know why we wanted him (Wayne) to leave and he was scared of going to hell. His wife just got into the baptist church and they were telling his wife that if you don't go to church EVERY Sunday then you are going to hell. Well way never went, EVER and was scared that if he went towards the light that he would end up going to hell and he was comfortable there with us as we were friends of the family, and he was happy that we bought his house (he actually built the house himself). She told us that he agreed to leave and asked if I (me) could say a prayer for him. I remember the prayer quite clearly and right at the end of it I said "if you ever need a place to stay, you can always stay here." Next day he was back. The lady gave me a rock that I was supposed to hold whenever I get scared and that rock is still sitting within arms reach now but its just been more of an ornament than anything.

Another very vivid memory I have is when I was sleeping down in the rumpus room on the couch so I could watch tv lol. Well I woke up in the middle of the night, turned over and saw him walking down the stairs, turn the corner and make his way towards my room. I think I scared myself back to sleep. I woke up agian that night to look down at the foot of the couch and see him watching over me sleep. I remember this one very vividly.

I got some pretty sweet stories as well...

In the basement we had a toy room and one morning mom was down in the basement doing whatever and heard a bunch of racket coming from the xylephone in toy room when she finally had enough and said something along the lines of "Jesus Christ quit playing with the damn toys" and he quit lol

I also used to have a touch lamp in my room in the basement that he used to turn off and on all the time. I had a buddy over one time and we were playing Mario Go Kart for super nintendo and he knew about him playing the touch lamp and **** before, well one afternoon we were given'r and the lamp turned on. well holy **** did he jump and start screaming about how he was "in there" and he was scared for his life lol. I just walked over, shut it off and was gonna keep playing like nothing happened.

Another story that comes to mind is the smoke detectors we had in the basement. We had them all over for some reason. There were a couple about 6 feet apart from each other, the one right at the bottom of the strairs which is one of his cold spots. Well the smoke detector right at the bottom would go off at random times, and eventually dad got pissed off and replaced it with a new one. Well the new one in the same spot would like to go off as well. So dad switched the one right at the bottom of the stairs with the one that is about 6 feet away and the other one that is now at the bottom of the stairs would like to go off. and guess what, Wayne was a smoker. The smoke detector was taken down from there for good.

Before we moved into that house I was always watching the shows "Goose Bumps" and "Are you afraid of the Dark?". Those shows would give me nightnames a lot in the old house. In the 12 plus years we lived in Wayne's house I never had 1 nightmare.

I don't have too many other stories off the top of my head right now and its late. If anyone is interested I could probably post more.
