I cant feel sorry for burger flippers. I think all of them are paid to much for that. $4 an hour is more than enough for flipping burgers...... Remember when Minimum wage was $4.25 so a big mac only cost $1.36? I do.......

manditory minimum wage laws are socialist by nature. They are wrong. If a company only pays $2.00 an hour, they will not atract employees. In a market like it is today, with the unemployment rate as low as it is, companies must pay more. If the unemployment is high, they can pay less. But skills get you good jobs. Besides, most minimum wage jobs are entry level jobs that high schoolers take. They are not a career. It is called moving up the ladder.

Here the minimum wage is ~$8.00/hr, but with the way our economy is right now, a place like DQ is advertising $10-12/hr to start (and still having trouble attracting employees)...

The Burger Kings in Calgary are offering 750-1000 signing bonuses along with that $10-12/hour . Anyone making minimum wage in this province needs to look for a new job.

I cant bring myself to buy BK food.... I can almost get a freshly cooked and larger gourmet burger "served to me" cheaper at almost any 4 star and many 5 star restraunts.

I cant force myself to pay gourmet prices for fast food.

As someone mentioned minimum wages are for entry level high school kids, or someone equal to them. If that happens to be a 35 year old person then oh well that is what they deserve for not being motivated and looking for handouts.

I also agree there is absolutely no need whatsoever for socialist laws dictating what a business owner must pay their employees.

A kid or 40 year old adult working at Burger King has no need whatsoever to earn more then $5 or so an hour. I have seen some kids driving new cars who work at fast food, what is up with that? No reason to pay someone in an entry level job enough money to buy a new vehicle, something very wrong with that picture…

SO yeah, just hire a illegal to do it right?

The babyboomers have spoiled their kids to the point they won't work the jobs we did as kids.

I pass a highscool now and it is full of WRX's, Nissans, Acuras etc..
When you and I where kids we where dragging cars out of fields to try to get going, real classics like 4 door novas, impalas, 64' valiant was my first, drug it out of a patch of blackberriy bushes and worked all summer just to get it running!!
Today you see a 16 yr old sitting at the dealership waiting for mommy and daddy to cut a check for the tune-up on their new ride, and bitching at them if they don't get what they want.

This is the majority I see spoiled little wastes of good semen, But I don't want no trouble from the kid that saved 40k for his f-350 supercrew and paid for all the mods himself

I should have shot you on your mommas backside, spoiled little pukes...

It benefits the economy, which in turn lines the politician's pockets with larger amounts of lobbyist cash. I weep for the future.

Your right though....
My first truck when I turned 16....
To get the money to buy it I hauled hay and mowed lawns all summer for 3 years, then used part of that money to buy bottle calves and rasied to sell for a profit. I sold the last of the calves the spring beofre I turned 16, that summer I found my 69 F100 parked behind a barn..... had been sitting there for 12 years. I had to cut down a tree in order to get it out, it had grown up right next to it and had caved in the door. It did run... barely.... but didnt have any brakes plus the steering was shot. Rebuilt the brakes and front end, and redid 90% of the electrical and rebult the carb and ignition to get it running right. Put new to me rubber on it, and drove it..... The interior, some how was perfect other than a few cracks on the dash pad.

I am in schools almost everyday, you rarely see that anymore. To most kids my 2000 is an old beater they wouldn't be caught dead in.

Roger that. I heard that McDonalds in Ft.McMurray is paying 20.00 an hour and still can't get people to work there.
Were abouts are you cndcowboy? Calgary? I just moved away from there. I got tired of the hustle and bustle.

Yep, it started right under the passenger side of the cab when it hit the body it curved out and around. Like I said it hadn't moved in 12 years. The tree was probably about 5 years old. It was about twice as big around as my arm.
