I don't really care for the Yanks or the Tribe, but I'd hate to see Torre get canned, he's a good skipper.

 

Nothing like a Steinbrenner ultimatum

 

Why do people hate the Yankees so much? One word....jealousy. Sure, Steinbrenner is an a$$, but the team has and always had some of the classiest players ever. Including Joe Torre as a manager.

 

The reason everyone hates the Yankees is because their solution to everything is to throw money at the problem.

They view the rest of the league as their farm system, and whenever Steinbrenner gets his panties in a wad about some perceived weakness in his club, he goes out and buys the solution.

Think of a spoiled 16-year-old girl who's daddy buys his little princess everything she wants.

( Hopefully, I didn't just describe LT with that last comment....... )

 

I have been a Tribe fan forever, but I have to admit thatm while I hate STeinbreener and the Yankees Organization, Joe Torre is nothing but class. He deserves a much, much better fate.

Why is everyone canonizing Joe Torre? If he deserves Sainthood for anything, it's dealing with Steinbrenner all these years. Let's face it -- he's had an awful lot to work with player-wise in his years with the Yankees.....

While I'll give him credit for doing a good job keeping all the ego's in check in that high-dollar clubhouse, as far as "management on the diamond" goes I don't see him as being any brilliant strategist.....

 

Torre is a class act - Steinbrenner is just a bunghole.
