Throw it in a Vista system and use disk management.

In Windows Vista it is now possible to resize partitions without any data loss in the new Disk Management console.

Resizing Partitions with Windows Vista:

Click on the Start Button and right click on Computer and select Manage.
Expand the Storage section and select Disk Management.
Then just right click on any partition and select either Expand or Shrink to change the size of the partition.
This will allow you to safely resize your partitions without any data loss. http://www.tweakvista.com/article38991.aspx

Yeah, but there are documented instances of Vista's disk management actually "losing" part of the hard drive. I wouldn't trust it.

Thats the first semi positive upgrade I've heard about Vista so far. As flawed as it undoubtedly atleast it is a functional upgraded feature.

Well I got the partitions merged, resized, mapped and arranged how I needed them, thanks to GLC for the late night 3 am help and thanks to everyone for your help in this thread. I love this place everyone rocks here.

Glad you got it worked out. What program did you end up using? I'm so lazy I would have probably just added another hd.

GLC showed me a patch that let Partition Magic work on this machine.

Yea I'm probably going to stop tomarrow to get another 500GB HD.
If BB or Circuit City was less than 45 miles away then I probably would have just went and got another one to begin with, but I drive it everyday didnt want to make the drive again on saturday or sunday... when I'll be there tomarrow. Then again I may look on Newegg or somewhere and see if I can get a deal. I still have 200 GB left between the two drive I have so dont need it imediatly. Now that I was able to merge the umpteen partions into 2 on each drive, now I can use that 200 GB instead of being spread out all over the place.

SATA

Had a bad day at work and after the 2 long nights (which probably contributed to the bad day) I decided not to go to the store today.... Feel lucky just to have made it home. I may look around online after awhile see what the prices are now. Been a year or so since I bought one.

I just picked up a 250GB SATA II for my PC for $89 at pcclub.com.

Do it!
