Laws are on the books for a reason...if you dont want a ticket dont break the law!

Dark window tint prevents them from seeing inside the car to see if your breaking other laws...seat belt use for example.

Tinted tails...darker than stock means they are not as bright, thus decreasing visibility and increasing the risk of a rear collision. Darker taillights might look cool to you but should your "coolness" be allowed to endanger another driver?

Loud systems and exhaust...well thats a no brainer. Loud noises do bother other people...why should you be allowed to bother other people when its unnecessary?

Mud flaps...that guy was running tires that stuck out outside the fenders. The law is there to protect other drivers (and their property) from being hit with rocks and other debris thrown up by those aftermarket over-sized tires. Whats so hard to understand about that?

If that's the case how come SUVs are exempt from that law? Even if they are running 44s, they still aren't required to have mudflaps.

What about the law that makes it illegal for an AZ resident to have more than two ****** in one room? What is that to protect?

That's crazy. Do you have a link to the law in your state that exempts SUV's from mudflaps?

In Ontario's HTA, mudflaps are only needed when required (weather).

Mudguards

(3) Every motor vehicle and every trailer shall be equipped with mudguards or fenders or other device adequate to reduce effectively the wheel spray or splash of water from the roadway to the rear thereof, unless adequate protection is afforded by the body of the motor vehicle or trailer or by a trailer drawn by the motor vehicle. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 66 (3).

Unfortunately I don't....I current'y don't live there anymore. But, I got few harrassments and tickets for no mudflaps on one of my old fords when I was in highschool. So, I read all about the mudflap law. 6 years ago those tickets were 100 bucks! Not to mention I had a cop threaten to impound my truck if I didn't get them on there. It had 35s on it.

Man I don't like arguing with people on here but the Roush Off-Road exhaust is not loud at all. If I got pulled over solely for my exhaust being to loud I would probably end up sitting in the back up the cop car for the things I said to the officer. There are plenty other things cops can be out doing instead of busting people for their exhaust being too loud. And no, window tint, seatbelts or mud flaps aint one of em.

Actually yes and no...I have NEVER ran into a cop that was acting like a **** to me as long as I showed him respect and the fact that he had nothing to fear from me. Infact I cant tell you how many tickets I have gotten out of because I was being respectful and appologetic to the....call it what you want but it works!

The only time I really ran into a cop that was a **** was in Panama City when I got some girls to flash us for some beads. The cop made a big deal out of it and I made one back since I have been drinking (I was not driving). We got into some pretty heated words and he wound up giving me a ticket for no seatbelt and advised me to get back in the truck and shut up...so I did. Then he said he got off work at 11 if I wanted to meet him back here then we could settle things...I was all for it but my GF would carry me back there. Which I am CERTAIN was a great idea on here part!

No, the lawbreakers break the law, the police enforce the law. What's so hard for you to understand about that? Once you take a government class then maybe you'll get it.

ok ok cops are perfect they never make mistakes or get angry or hold grudges. Have you ever seen a cop not where there seatbelt, I have. Have you ever seen a cop turn on his lights and siren go through a red light and then turn them back off, I have. Don't take this the wrong way I have nothing against the police my best friend is in the academy right now. I just find it hard to believe that people actually believe that they are perfect and never do anything wrong.

Don't blame the cops, they just enforce the laws they don't make them. Could be they have had complaints lately in that area or where ever and you just happened to be driving by.

It all boils down to "If you don't want to be noticed, Don't attract attention to yourself"... If you want to go driving around with an exhaust that can be heard for 1 minute (estimate) before you arrive, then you are attracting unwanted attention to yourself. This is also true for all other petty vehicle & traffic violations: Tinted Windows, Tinted light covers, Colored lights (not OEM) fuzzy dice on the rearview, seatbelt not buckled, cracked windsheild, riding with driviers seat reclined to the point of ridiculous, side view mirrow torn off, loosley attached license tag/plate, and my personal favorite : having your sound system so LOUD that the rearview mirror in the Patrol car Vibrates... I could go on...

i never complained about runnin slicks on my 67 when i got my ticket...sure it was not raining, but they were not d.o.t. certified...sure nough got the ticket....did i bitch about it...no i knew the risk, took it, and got spanked for it....move on. some people want to justify what they do wrong by saying other do it to, why not stop them. i heard it once by an officer when he was asked, "why didn't you stop them...they were speeding too?" his reply was a question back to the person..."have you ever been fishing?".....the guy says yes i have been fishing...the officer then asked "did you catch every fish in the lake?"
