DO NOT CHANGE YOUR PLATES!!!! If ya dont, you can run the tolls and they wont charge ya! You can put that money towards your out of state huntin' licence.

BTW The thought of Dave with a firearm scares me. Remember Cheney...

I actually didnt get a Texas plate until I bought my new truck a month ago. I have never been hunting with guns. I used to go Hog hunting in Florida with a plot hound, 3-5 pit bulls, and a big knife. Once the plot hound finds the hog it howls and we let the pits go and they attack the hog. Then we come up on it and grab its back legs, flip it over, and stab it in the heart. Thats some real hunting. And we got to drive around in a swap buggy the whole night drinking beer. But i have been to the range many times. I have shot many rifles and handguns.

If you do that with the hogs here in TX, your F in nuts! Hogs scare the **** outa me...I have run across them on my dirt bike...I turn around and go the other way. Have you seen what hogs do in "Deadwood?" Mr. Woos got some mean ole hogs. One of the "hannibal" movies had some viscious hogs.

BTW It takes three months for a hog to go Ferrel.

we had some good sized hogs in Florida. They scare the crap out of me too. But when you have a few pit bulls biting down on their necks and ears holding them in place it isnt so bad to get them with your knife. And once you get a hogs back legs it is almost paralyzed. I'll bring some pics to the meet and greet tomorrow and show ya. The one I have pictures of was only about 100-150lbs.

LOL, I'm diggin' this thread!!

Yeah, you do have to have a license to hunt any regulated game in Texas. 98% or so of the land is privately owned, so it is the animals you're buying a license to hunt, nothing to do with where you do the hunting. And I would also add that wherever you get your license ask for the booklet that explains all the things you have to do if you take an animal. Very specific stuff, and in Texas the game wardens are everywhere and very serious. The state of Texas takes wildlife seriously these days.

Get your DL first of all, even a temp one is good enough to get a resident hunting license. Will save you hundreds of $$ as opposed to an out-of-state license.

It's open season on hogs all year round, no license needed, kill 'em all!! I do every chance I get.. LOL

No way I'd jump on 'em with a knife, pit bulls or no.. lol.. I've never had a whitetail take more than a couple of steps after one 30.06 round thru the shoulder or neck. I've hit a couple of boars with good shots that ran a quarter mile or more.. and took a couple more shots to pacify 'em. Tough SOB's.. and not scared of humans at ALL.. But by all means shoot any wild hog ya see, they do a lot of damage.. and they are tastier than the pork ya get at HEB..

I just found out that when you go to get a drivers license in Texas you dont even get it on the spot. What kind of nonsense is that? In Florida you get it printed out in about 5 minutes. Youd think with todays technology they would be able to print out the license at th DMV.

LOL!!

Yeah, they give ya a temporary piece of freakin' paper to use until your "real" license arrives in the mail.. BUT, it's just fine for anything ya need to use it for.. bank accounts, insurance, hunting licenses.. it works just fine for all that..

You dont have to stand in line all day. You go and give them your information, take a picture, and 3-5 minutes later they call your name and you get your shiny new license right there and you go home. Plain and simple with no snail mail involved. Texas will eventually upgrade their system. Which reminds me....I have to look up where the drivers license place is.
