Question Downloading Stuff...

Not that any of us do this, but if you were to download music, videos, etc, what programs would you use? I *might* just be a little excited that I'm finally off the stupid campus internet and need some catching up to do...

id like to know where the hell youre finding birds telling you about illegal downloading files.

A friend told me of bitlord, after bitlord, sign up at www.bitsarah.com for the most country selection, and ofc limewire.

It's not for illegally downloading files. The capability is there though.

uTorrent is the best torrent client out right now, IMO.

And don't forget to get PeerGuardian.

I've used it, and it seemed decent enough, but I don't trust those types of programs anymore. Torrents are the hot ticket right now.

Download Bitcomet. and then use isohunt.com, that is what I have seen people do.

U gotta open the "client" and than searct torrent sites on the web(isohunt.com). Than you download the torrent through the client, burn your CD and delete the torrent and all files associated with it. Spytorrent used to be a good one but they dont let the U.S. use their site anymore. hmmm I wonder why?

BitComet and BitLord are banned on quite a few private trackers. I would recommend going with uTorrent (like I said previously) or Azureus or something like that.

Basically torrents work like this:
1. Download and install torrent client
2. Go to a "Tracker" and find what you want. I suggest Torrentz.com as is searches multiple public trackers. Private trackers are usually much better but you have to seed and cannot "hit n run." Demonoid, TheDVDClub, Oink, HDBits, ILoveTorrents, and BitSoup are some private trackers that come to mind.
3. Download the .torrent file from the website and open it (or simply set it to open automatically with your client of choice).
4. Enjoy your free stuff.

Also, I highly recommend downloading and installing PeerGuardian. It blocks a range of IP addresses that have potential to be from the RIAA/MPAA/Etc. Basically, it helps keep you from getting sued.
