Wow, already a hurricane. Yesterday it was a tropical disturbance. Have fun and stay dry!

We're starting to catch some of the outer bands now, just east of Baton Rouge. It hasn't stopped raining all night/morning. I can't wait to drive to school, LSU is one big flood zone

*Hope everyone made it allright**

My son and daughter in law live in Beaumont. Have not been able to make contact with them yet. I have heard on the news that 100,000 are without power and there is some flooding. Hope we hear from them soon, but assume it's just the power outage.

They should be fine. This hurricane is just a baby. The water damage is going to be much worse than the wind damage. I have been through many hurricanes living in Florida for 14 years and Puert Rico for 2 years. Hurricane Hugo in Puert Rico back in 1989-1990 was a catagory 5 and that was INSANE!
