Look what I found while getting the mail today
I was walking down to get the mail, and spotted this guy laying out in my driveway:

Shot him just behind the head with a .22 (was aiming for the head, but the rifle isn't the greatest). Afterwards my nephew showed up, so I gave it to him. He said he was going to skin it and make a plaque or something.
This is actually the first time I've seen a Diamondback out here. I've seen Pygmy Rattlers, Copperheads, Corals, Cottonmouths, and various non-venomous snakes but none of these. It's kind of exciting, though in a slightly scary way.

I hate snakes with a passion, last time I went fishing up north I had to drive through a huge area of snake pits. Just gardner snakes but damn, there were thousands dead on the road and did I get my share of them crossing the highway.
Last time I went chicken hunting had one slither right past me, blew that SOB to bits

Did you really have to kill it? Couldnt you have relocated it or called animal control to relocate it? Snakes are given a bad rep by people. Just leave it alone and walk away it will not harm you unless you provoke it. I have owned several snakes are they make excellent pets. They eat once a week to a month depending on size and only have to clean its cage once a week. They make no noise unless its a rattler but if u have one of those for a pet then u have major issues lol. A ball python is the perfect pet snake for the beginner. They grow 5 to 6 feet at most and are very very calm and gentle snake that you can take anywhere around your neck.
Give snakes a chance, dont kill them unless absolutley neccessary.
