Video editing question...

How can one change the format of a video?

For example, when I make movies with my digital camera the format is in Quick Time (whatever format that is), but I need them in MPEG.

How can I convert that format?

Links?

Apps?

Thanks.

Freak.

Right now, I have a bunch of Brooklyn (my 9 months old rugrat) videos and I want to put em on a disk, but the program that IO use to make movies and add music don't support QuickTime's format.

basic windows movie maker if you have it, drag the video onto the timeline and choose to expoirt the movie then you choose the resoluion quality and type, or sony vegas you choose render and do the same thing.

some programs are straight converters you can find on download.com by searching for example "wmv to mpg converter"

or sme programs might be as simple as "save as" then choose the file type.
