Just stop it already !
Well, i know thats not really going to stop it in any case. But in one week on two seperate occasions two police officers have been shot here in broward county close to my office.
One officer (who was not yet on duty) pulled over a motorcyclist who was weaving in and out of traffic. He was approaching the man to give him A WARNING and was shot at twice. One striking the officer in the head as the man fled the scene, but was later captured. That officer is in critical condition.
This morning a 51 year old officer and 18yr veteran was patroling the back of a walgreens looking for any suspicious cars and running thier plates when he was ambushed and shot FIVE TIMES and killed.
Seriously what the hell !

I believe its time citizens should actually be able to take some things into their own hands without constantly having to worry about lawsuits and being arrested. For example, back in the day if a kid was acting up in the grocery store, pretty much anyone could swat that kid in the rear and tell him to straighten up, much like teachers could smack the kids with a ruler or whatever else they found handy. If you saw someone breaking into your neighbors house and you knew they weren't home, you could go over and kill the person and nobody would question it, because hte guy was breaking into your neighbors house! If you saw someone breaking into a friends car, you'd be within your rights to go out and beat the **** out of em.
Now in all these situations, if youw ere to respond on your own, you'd like be arrested and/or face a lawsuit. The parents of the kid you you spanked in the grocery store would now be able to retire off the lawsuit settlement, the guy who was breaking into your buddies car would sue for pain and suffering and youw ould be arrested for assault and battery, and he'd likely win millions.
It's a ****ed up society we live in, where criminals have more rights then those who aren't breaking the laws. Hell, our police can't even taser someone anymore without getting in trouble, no wonder so many officers are being shot and killed - they are afraid to protect themselves for fear of breaking policy and police department getting sued.

Prayers for my brothers in arm!
Double units, hell, I'd be happy just to have some back up less than an hour away.....
Small town cops where I patrol stick together, but we can be a long ways away in time of emergency. I can assure you though, when we go, it's ***** to the wall!

The second one was right down the street from my GFs house. Scary stuff man, the officer was just checking the plates when the guys came out and shot 10 shots. 5 of them hit the officer killing him. He was a father of 4 kids i beleive.
I hate hearing these things.. tragedies.. but I think we all should hear in order to understand what the men in blue are up against just doing their jobs.
These cases are what death penalty opponents should have to comment on.. no redeeming human qualities in these perps whatsoever.
It's not intended as a deterrent.. it's a PUNISHMENT

It is called the ACLU, trial lawyers, and liberalisim. The three greatest threats to our society.
I guess this is what I have to look forward to this coming up week. I have to go to Miami and help their office out. I live in FL but have never been to Miami. This is probably the worst place to go to work on ATM's.
It was not my choice to go there, but there were 6 of us forced to go one week at a time.

No offense to police officers... but it's your choice if you want to work to get shot.
No thank you for me. I was thinking of becoming an officer... but wayyyy too many gun shot stories lately... and how people hate cops, and bad names that get spread around. Not for me.
I don't break the law, I don't hurt cops, heck, if anything, I help them out.

they put their lives out there to protect the us INCLUDING the insurance companies, so they deserve all the health insurance they can get. if i saw something happen like that in front of me, i would be getting me some target practice at the back of someone's legs.
