I think I may agree with you on this. I don't care how strong you are, if you don't connect correctly with the ball, it's not going out. As a kid, I was one of the stronger kids in the league. I hit 3 HR's across the fence in the time I put in, between 6 and 15 years old. I batted over .400 every season after my eleventh birthday and finished off with a .704 my last year of playing. That's 3-4 at bats a game. I could hit a line drive almost all the way to the fence; but, nothing wanted to go out. There's a lot more to hitting HR's than power. Power doesn't hurt though.

To me, it's not the drugs, it's the arrogance. If he weren't such an arsehole I'd say good for him.

That's my only issue with Bonds. The guy is a real jerk.

I really don't see what the big deal is..

Steriods weren't illegal in ML baseball. Unethical maybe, but not illegal. So, WTF?

I'd tell the media, "Yeah b*tches, I took steriods... So what?"

Steriods may make you stronger, faster- but you still have to work out to build the muscle. And, no amount of steriod will improve your reflexes, timing, and hand & eye coordination.

I'm no Bonds (or baseball) fan, but damn! Enough is enough...

Eh, I wasn't going to get involved in this topic but your logic is flawed at best.

If the 'roids HE DID USE were not illegal or wrong in any way then why did his supplier do prison time rather than tell the truth?

"Steroids may make you stronger, faster, but you still have to work out." Wow. Seriously? The point is the steroids allow you to get stronger than you could on a normal workout routine, by a shipload, and FAST. It will also help with speed, which in turn will help with being able to make contact, and coordination. It's all connected.

Have you ever seen his HR history broken down by age? It literally goes through the roof at what just so happens to be the same exact time he was 'roided up. So for people to sit here and say it isn't a big deal, and that it doesn't do much- you're plain naive.

What Barry did WAS wrong, and it did give him an UNFAIR and illegal advantage. Period. Couple that with the fact that the guy is a total scumbug/jerk, and you can now understand why so many could care less how many home runs the guy has

Prior to 2004, was the use of steriods illegal in baseball? Yes or No.

Case dismissed...

The guy who allegedly sold them to him, was probably incarcertated for illegally pedling steriods. Not that the steriods are illegal.

Again, it's baseball so who really gives a s**t?

It's not like it's a contat sport, such as boxing, football, etc.. Barry Bonds was a great (And highest paid) player way back in the early 90's. While he doesn't kiss media ***, it doesn't mean the guys not a good athlete.

Hell, we could all dope ourselves up, and still be kings of striking out. Steriods don't give you talent.

It was Bonds' personal trainer, and he's in the slammer because he won't open his mouth about the Balco case.

Yeah, on Real Sports, Mike Sheffield said he and Barry took them, unknowingly of course...

Mcguire 's name came up, as well as others....

This is bigger than Barry Bonds.

So much for "Innocent Until Proven Guilty".

Not a single person on this board KNOWS that Mr. Bonds used steroids. I personally could care less if he did or didn't. I'm not going to judge the guy because I DON'T KNOW if he did anything. I can theorize all day but in the end, I don't know & neither do any of you.

KC-10 FE out...

Yeah, I'm not going to judge OJ either, because I don't know for sure if he killed anyone

Not disputing his talent. He would have been a Hall-of-famer without the use of roids. But how many of his just-over-the-fence homers would have only had warning-track power behind them without the steroids? Sure he has the talent to hit the ball but how many of those 755 homers don't clear the fence without the extra power supplied by the steroids?

Hank Aaron's absence from all of this speaks volumes.
