Of course, you could not 'kick the tires', but if it's as mechanically sound as it looks, then you should be ok!

As far as the wheels, some 17's or 18's would still be 'cool'... Just don't go any more then that! Do they make Torque Thrusters in those sizes?? I think they make the 'classic' 5 spoke Cragers in 16-17" now so maybe?? I do like the TT's as well!

Very Jealous of you!!

Mitch
Yea, the Cragers would be a nice option in 17's

Sure, new wheels would be nice, but I think my first priority would be to add A/C.

There is only 1 wheel that you should run on that vehicle and that is a standard (smoothie) chrome rim with baby moons....
I have a whole barn full of FE motor parts (390-428) if you are interested in building it. In my gallery there are several pictures of one of my rerstorations. It is the 65 F-100 sporting the wheel set up I mentioned, and it has a 428/475 Cobra jet stuffed under the hood. Take a look....
Nice find by the way...

Wheels are nothing more than a chrome (15") rim from Summit Racing. Less than $100.00 each with a "baby moon" hub cap on them. The BFG's were not my first choice but I got a very good deal so took them.
On a side note, I sold that truck to two brothers that own an automotive parts store after they molested me for over a year to sell it to them, for enough money to walk in and pay cash for my Lightning...
