They are takign 10 - 12K of new Dodge Rams here in Dallas. I'd imagine they're doing the same everywhere.
I just rode past Manuel Dodge in Richardson, TX this morning, and the Ram on the Pedestal says, ($12,000 off MSRP).
So, you could land a new Crew cab Ram for around $18,000. That would be a steal- in my book. If I didn't think my wife would have a coronary event with me trading an MDX for a Ram, I'd get it myself.
Bottom line is, today- the gap between superior and inferior is minute.
While I won't say the Ram is as good as the Tundra or F-150, I think it would serve you well- and leave your pocket fluffier than an F-150 will...
Gas money...
I like the F-150 too, but a new full size, V-8 truck for $18,000.
That's worth a look in anybody's book.

If you're looking to modify the truck to make it faster, then the Dodge's don't really have much out there for them, especially in the tuning department. If you think the 5.4 was weak, hook up a trailer to the Hemi and tell me how it does. I was very disappointed in it. I thought my 4.6 did better.
