i know hes innocent til proven guilty but.....

one thing i cant stand is animal cruelty. the indicement states that he "alledgedly" took part in electrocuting a dog to death after it lost a fight. he also "alledgedly" with help from 2 other guys, killed 8 dogs in one afternoon for not performing well. he "alledgedly" killed them by hanging them, electocution, drowning and beating them to death.

an eye for an eye i say. i will never cheer for him or for any team that has him on there roster.

I guess I don't understand why they kill them in such a creul way? Do they do in front of the other dogs to teach them a lesson? Or is cause they are so pissed at the dog for not winning? Or is it because they are such insecure a$$ holes!

I have 3 pitbulls here in my house and all 3 came from a fighting ring in philly. The ring was busted by the cops and 3 females were with pups. The vets could not save 2 of the preg females but did save the pups from all 3.I spend time at the
SPCA and donate food and cash to try and help.So when they had 12 pups that needed homes I steped up and took as many as I could. The sad fact is that most pounds wont place pitbulls they just put them down due to them being pitbulls. So these people that fight these dogs just makes it worse for every pitbull, fighter or not. They bait the dogs with the pups they dont want as well as any other small animal.I hope they throw the book and the book shelf at these clowns. These are all grown men if they want to see a fight they should beat the shat out of each other.

the stories i have read are pretty much saying this isnt a "probation and community service" type of offense. hes looking at hard time. and most likely the other 3 people will plea bargain to lesser deals and testify against vick. i say he gets 3 years in jail.

He's extremely wealthy. He won't spend a day in jail for this. His partners will likely do some time but he'll pay a huge fine and walk.

If O.J. taught us anything it's that you can literally get away with murder if you can hire a buttload of high-priced lawyers.

I saw this story yesterday. Made me sick to my stomach. I hope at the least the NFL suspends him for a year, and he gets thrown in jail. Pretty sure he won't get jail time though. It is a pretty sad world, we pay these "athletes" millions of dollars a year to entertain us, and yet our teachers have to buy there own school supplies for kids, at least in Florida. Plus, our kids look to the athletes as role models. Not saying all athelets are bad, but when you hear crap like this, it sucks. And i don't care if he was raised in an enviroment that catered to this type of behavior, he has to take responsibility. He is a piece of crap, in my book...

Come on peeps, is this really a big surprise? How much intelligence does it take to run and throw a football? And no, the press in Atlanta is not cutting Vick any slack. But MHO is that he will get a huge fine and no jailtime. Including a 1-year suspension from the league.

Yeah, it sickens me to hear about this... This came up a month or three ago, and Vick was denying it. However, even then they annouced "sources" stating Vick was well-known in the dog fighting arena.

While this is deviant behavior, isn't dog-fighting legal in some states? The reason I ask is, I could have SWORN I saw an interview or read an article years ago, about Roy Jones Junior (The boxer) and his involvement with dog (or chicken) fighting... To be dumb/bold enough to mention that publicly, I would have to believe it's legal, somewhere...

Sorry, I love dogs- and could never let anything like this slide.
He's rich & famous- so, he will not go to jail, no more than for the mug shots, and finger prints.

If he's guilty- throw the book at him. Prison, fines, and/or both.
Someone like Vick though, someone would have to have pictures of him there, for the charges to stick. Wealthy folks rarely get prison over hearsay.

Now, you or I....

Saw an interview with some SPCA expert and he said that dog fighting is not a crime in Idaho and Wyoming.

The SPCA guy being invterviewed (by O'Reilly, I think) was really on top of his game and seemed to have plenty of details about the Vick case. Vick apparently was observed giving a guy a back pack with $23,000 in cash after the guy's dog beat Vick's dog.

I know he is innocent until proven guilty, but anecodatal evidence shown by the media suggest Vick is DEEPLY involved.

I would love to see the NFL suspend him, but they have already said it is a legal matter and will let it play out in court. That is going to take YEARS. It will be interesting to see if they continue to let him play as the facts and allegations roll in....

I have been following this for some time. If you go to the smokinggun you can read the indicement.

It seems that they have a witness that states he was personally hand money from Vick after his dogs lost a fight. Not once but twice.

Also in the start of this whole thing there was somebody claming that they had him (Vick) on video tape at some of the fights. But I can't seem to find that article any more.

Despicable if true, however, I am not sure if he should lose his career over it.
