No, I can not get that one, once the modding starts....4.6 is more than sufficient for what I need.
Good info though.
How are the transmissions on the F150?
3.55 Axle Ratio vs 3.73 Axle Ratio or Limited Slip w/3.55 Axle Ratio vs Limited Slip w/3.73 Axle Ratio ?
Which one? I am all for safety, so I tend to pay the money for the Limited Slip.
How about the gears, I am not too clear about that. I understand that the 3.55 are better for mpg then the 3.73, but not as good for traction, right?

And get the 3.73 Limited Slip gears. Your mileage will actually probably be better with the 3.73s vs. the 3.55s.

I wouldn't go much taller than 245/75 with 3.55's on mine though.
It had 235/70's when I bought it, and would burn them off if I punched it at 55 mph especially on wet pavement I couldn;t hardly get moving. Trailer or no trailer didnt matter. I never got to use full throttle unless I eased into it. 245/75 are an inch and a half taller. Now I can only break traction romping on it at a dead stop or wet pavement, mud. snow or ice. I actually have to try to spin the tires now and now I get to use all of the torque.
If I went to 3.73's I'd have to get 335/85 to compensate and have traction and still may not be tall enough.
I decided to get it.
Brand new, 4.6, 3.55, 4x2, SuperCab.
Still cleaning up some financial ****, but otherwise, I am good to go.
End of this month, beginning or August you should see the pics of the new baby.
I am so freaking anxious now, I cant wait to get it. Damn it.

2007 F-150 4x2 Super Cab Styleside 6.5 ft. box 145 in not sure if the SXT or XL, I am still trying to figure out the differences, but as a general idea, this is what I will get:
* Limited Slip w/3.55 Axle Ratio
* Tires: P255/65Rx17 OWL A/S (4) Continental
* Speed Control
* Trailer Tow Package
* Privacy Glass
* Rear Window Defroster
* Medium Flint w/Cloth Captain's Chairs
* Bright Red Clearcoat
* Bedliner/Bedmat Tailgate Cover
* Running Bars, Tubular Elliptical
* Tonneau Cover
* Window, Sliding Rear
Budget is rather limited, so I will try to be reasonable, of ocurse I want the Lariat or FX4, but one can not have them all....
I'd rather have it with less options but brand new, then used with full options.
Some may stay or go, more may show up, I will see later on. The idea is that I will get one....

you can add speed control and privacy glass to both models.
now, I was looking at some of them down the road, I noticed that some are a bit higher than the others. is this simply the tire size or is the 4x2 vs the 4x4 version?
so the 245/70x17 is taller then the 235/70x17? how about the 255/65?

Here this will help you with the tire size.
Tire Size Calculator
Note: I do not own a miata yet, (thinking about building a monster Miata some time) I found it on a google search for tire sizes along time ago and saved it in my favorites.

LOL, non gay.
the suspensions seems to be different, the 4x2 is not as tall as the 4x4.....
SXT, 4x2 vs 4x4
Ground clearance (min) 203mm (8.0") 211mm (8.3")
Exterior height 1,861mm (73.3") 1,920mm (75.6")
problem solved, thanks for the info.

This will be my daily driver, no hauling, maybe a small boat in the far future, a bit, juuuuust a very little bit of off road fun, Canadian winters and about 50.000KM /year - lease is not an option for me.
Why a truck? Because I am simply sick of the aggressive van drivers or the moronic ricers. I do not care anymore (to a certain degree) about fuel consumption. I plan to live forever so I feel much better with my feet at a higher level then the hondas. So Ford truck it is.
Now, is it worth buying new? I plan to keep this around for at least 5 years. With the Family Pricing promotion they now have in Canada, I could get a sweet deal.
I take very good care of my cars. How reliable is the F150? Engine? Tranny? Accessories?
How expensive is to maintain and how expensive is to fix?
I am looking into the F150 and the Next Gen Silverado. I tend towards the F150 having so much history and being a very safe truck. I have never owned a truck before.
Any replies will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
