good to see Fords truck line is selling about the same as last year.. and gm has dropped... even with there new improved POS
and I like this one:
Toyota, which relies on incentives to spur demand for the Tundra, is offering 0% financing, or up to $3,500 cash back, on all models of the trucks between June 15 and July 31. A company spokesman said in mid-June that a 5.5% downturn in the overall U.S. pickup-truck market led to the decision to offer the deep discounts.
hmmm... 5.5% downturn in overall US pickup market... but ford stayed at about the same sales....

The most we could get off the Tundra was $3,500, while we were getting $8,500+ off the F150. As you can guess, he bought a FX4 Screw (like mine
).
fact is that toyota having to give any incentive at all on there new "wonder truck" and sales so far below ford... well the numbers speak for themselfs. Ford has been giving discounts forever.. so it is about normal.
oh and congrats to your brother.. he got the better truck

I haven't been in a Tundra, so I can't talk about the interior or handling...so I guess I can only rely on numbers posted online/in magazines

Not to mention that at least by buying the Ford you are investing in America, instead of investing in a foreign company.
No matter how great the Tundra is, I could never brag about owning a Toyota. Where Im from, if you're the guy who drives an import, chances are you are going home alone.
In defense of GM, if you take away the 22% drop in rental sales they would be +1% for the month.

Personally I think my brother made a mistake. Not because he bought the Ford, but because he bought an outgoing model.
He should have waited another year when the 09' new model comes out. Completely redesigned with better engines and 6-speed automatic.
Oh well, youth, what do you expect?
As for the Toyota, that thing is a freakin beast. Makes the Hemi Ram feel slow, very solid feel as well. The thing is seriously EXPENSIVE compared to the F150 just based on MSRP, and compound in the low incentives and it was just too much $$$. The new Silverado was cool, but my brother won't buy a Chevy.

"Sales of the Tundra pickup more than doubled to 21,727 from 8, 822"
that seems like an increase to me. although i am not sure. i like to use Al Gores "fuzzy math"

Don't confuse the issue with facts.

About the Tundra, yeah, its a beast, but is overpriced and me personally, I could never take pride in driving an import.
My '99 F-150 might not me much, but I get women checking me out a lot when Im in my truck and thats a reaction I never got when I drove a Toyota. Granted, I didnt buy my truck just because I wanted to pick up chicks, but its a definete plus that women love my truck.
