My wife goes to the Lakes today with a friend of hers from work, she calls me on her cell phone and asks if I know what a Saleen Mustang is, because that's what she was cruising in. Nice day for it, top down, I got to stay home and mow the lawn.

She comes home and tells me she wants to look for a convertible Mustang (and said forget the GT500 in the same sentence).

We got on cars.com and found an 03 convertible Cobra (pretty much like the red one she told I couldn't have a few weeks ago) with 28K for $20K. She wants to drive up and look at it, the car is here:

Good price? Collectible? It wouldn't be a DD, so we don't want something hat will be worthless in ten years even if we white glove it with minimal mileage.

 

says 2001 in the add. If I was to get a cobra it would be the 2003 or 04 because they had the supercharger on them... 390 hp. But if you like it go for it. It will hold it's value better than other mustangs.

I know the supercharged models need real premium, premium around here is still ethanol based, hows that fly with with the supercharger?

 

a lot of people are selling their conv. cobras....not so much their hard tops
but i would only touch a 03-04 conv. cobra

 

That price is way above book value.

 

x 2, the Terminator ('03-'04) is the only way to go. It also has forged internals and you can easily make over 500rwhp with only about $1K in mods (exhaust/intake/pullies).

If I had the money I'd get one, I've always wanted a Terminator.

 

The 03 Cobra is probally the best Mustang Ford ever created other than any Mustang created pre 70s.

There are so many warning lights flashing at this moment ... One of my old neighbors bought his wife a shiny new red convertible and he drove the old gray mini-van... A couple of years later she took her "understanding" husband on a cruise to introduce him to her boyfriend.

That is true but good luck finding one. The 01 is a 4 valve n/a. Still a nice car though.

And I'm not worried about my wife leaving me, in her family divorce doesn't happen, just seperate bedrooms

Anyway, we found an 03 "Terminator" but it's been modded extensively and it's a hard top, not what we're looking for, we made an offer on the 01 but haven't heard back.
