It's Dead

The immigration bill failed to get cloture.

Thank you Senator Sessions from Alabama. He was a chief opponent of this bill.

"This immigration bill has become a war between the American people and their government. ... This vote today is really not about immigration, it's about whether we're going to listen to the American people," he said.

Thank God!!!

I watched the Ron Paul thing, he definitely talks like my kind of guy! The Libertarians can win an election in the current system, but if he can win the Republican primary race... he says what most of us think!

That about does it....

I know this is off topic vader (sorry).

Brief Overview of Congressman Paul’s Record:

He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.

He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war.

He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.

Congressman Paul introduces numerous pieces of substantive legislation each year, probably more than any single member of Congress.

I'm going to have to look up the CNN debates to see how this Paul fellow did. From reading his site, he's a candidate I can support, no questions asked.

Well the Republican and Democrat supporters dismiss him as someone who shouldn't be in the debate but that's because he doesn't support their party lines.

Watch the debates and listen to what he says, not the rhetoric about him. Youtube him.

Here is the type of legislation that he introduces. You still think it doesn't mean much:

H.R. 2755 - To abolish the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System and the Federal reserve banks, to repeal the Federal Reserve Act, and for other purposes.

We don't need an immigration bill - we need enforcement of EXISTING laws!
