Yea but it was a "Republican" president pushing it and several GOP senators as well including John McCain

Not all large government is necessarily bad
He advocates a return to the sound money. It would help control ridiculous spending and inflation. If we go back to the gold standard why do we need the reserve?

I'm all for rocking the boat, but we've got to keep an eye on this guy and make sure his intention is to only rock, and not sink the boat.

Congtats to the American people on the immigtation bill. This is only one of the things we need to be paying attention to though.

Wow---the Dem from Ohio---Brown---voted "NAY"; the Rep from Ohio (Voinovich, who often crosses party lines) voted "NAY." And that darn "commie", Bush, was on pushing for the bill to go through. As a fairly liberal Dem, I, for one, am certainly glad that it did not pass.

here is a link that shows his position on most issues.. articles he has written. He is right on a lot of things... but he is so wrong on foriegn policy. and that would be disasterous for the US. Protectionism has caused us a lot of problems in the past.

I'm curious what about his foreign policy is wrong.

Considering where we are right now with regards to FP, I can't imagine it worse.

We are where we are in foreign relations now because of bad PR. Typical republicans can't blow there own horn. We as a nation give more aid to foreign nations than anyone. Yet they spit in our face. Never mind we are feeding there starving babies. Protectionisim got us into WWI and WWII. We can't ignore the world and pretend they aren't there. We are the biggest most powerful nation. We are also the most generous. It needs to stay that way. You hear the press say that foreign nations don't like us. But trust me... the main population of the world adores us. They apreciate the aid they get and allow them to live. You will never hear that on the news though. So most Americans view of world affairs is really skewed. Ron pauls idea is to put the shutters up and ignore every one. It can't be that way. He is right on social issues though.. and I can apreciate that.. but he is going no where.

I think you are wrong about the shutters bit. Pouring out billions to foreign nations while we are rotting from within is going to kill us. We are buying allegiance but not respect.

Every empire over extends itself and crumbles under the weight of its size. Pulling back and re-prioritizing our spending is a great idea IMO.

And how are we rotting within? Are you falling for the liberal talk that our economy is bad? Our economy is the best it has ever been on many accounts. We are rotting withing with the social isues for sure. And that is a liberal caused problem too. Racism is still here because of every ones need to be labeled. There are no african americans, latino americans, italian americans. We are all Americans. Racism would pretty much be gone if every one realized we are of the same country. Diversity will kill America faster than any thing else. Then there is the "tolerance" issue. We tolerate every thing now.. or we have to go to rehab. That will kill this country almost as fast as diversity.

"Tolerance is the virtue of a man without convictions"

No I'm not falling for the liberal press. The economy on the surface is fine, that isn't my issue.

However, socially, you are correct we are rotting from within. We are killing ourselves with social programs, spending, gov't control and dependency, restricted liberty, exchanging freedom for a sense of security, the war on terror, drugs, homelessness, etc.

I'll be glad when Bush is gone. He isnt a conservative, he's a Mexican operative with a need for war. Good riddance.
