Garden help please....

Hey folks.

I got some really good info/help help a couple years ago from F150Europe with my tomatoes.....hoping for that kind of help again.

I'm having a little issue with my zucchini squash this time around. The plants are gorgeous (pic 1), but they aren't putting out any fruit. They are blooming (pic 2), but it appears they are cut off of the plant (pic 3).

Any ideas?

I'll check back later, I got weeds to pull.

I had the same problem...
Some make it ... some don't..

I think once a flower blooms and its not pollenated in time then it just falls off..

Hang in there you WILL get results...

(If they all "made it" you would be overrun in no time)..

...zap!

Give it some time. If there aren't many bees in your area, like if the city/county sprays for mosquitos, you may have trouble pollenating the plants.

Zap's right, when they catch on and start growing, you'll have more zucchini than you know what to do with. Give 'em to your neighbors, throw 'em at your neighbors, throw them at people driving by your house.

You may be fertilizing with the wrong type fertilizer.

Check Here and see a nutrient breakdown of fertilizer. It may help you get more blooms with the right number on the fertilizer.

Had the same problem with my yellow squash.
Did some research and found that this problem is usually associated with calcium deficiency.
Crushed some of my wifes calcium supplements and spread them around the plants about 5 days ago.
I'm hoping that solved the problem.

I second that. Last year our zucchini took off like wildfire. I gave so many away that guys at work would run the other way when they saw me walking in holding a box of them. You picked one and it seemed like two more grew in it's place overnight. Kind of reminded me of those little bouncy blob critters in Halo.

LMAO - Yes, I've read up on that, but I be damned if I get out there with a little tiny paint brush and do that. I like to garden, it's a great stress relief, but ummm, screw that.

Yep. That's what I'm hoping for. My tomatoes are like that every year. Some days I'll bring in about a dozen at a time.

Man, the difference in store bought veggies and home grown...amazing. The next time I slice a mater, I'll get side by side compasison to the two.

Goyya go...Brookie is fussing.
