I can understand when finances are tight and you have to make sacrifices. But if times are that tough, an extra 100 dollars a month and 2 mpg is not that significant of a savings. If you really must downsize, buy something used/cheap and really save money until you can get back into a nice vehicle. If you purchase another new truck you will be stuck for a while if times continue to be tight before you will be able to get out of it without losing your shirt again. Be smart, bite the bullet once. Good luck either way. I have always liked Tacos.

Didn't you just buy a brand new four-wheeler a month or two ago? No wonder you have a financial crisis. You have to quit buying crap when you have financial problems. Not buy more crap.

I can understand a little bit if you are getting a very good amount of $$$ for your truck, but if you are truly having financial problems, I will agree with some of the other posters... buy something used.

i am on the light foot theory. im just going to try and keep selling it. im not putting anymore money into it. as soon as its gone im at the toyota dealer. even if its 6 months from now. i think im done with the full size trucks. i just dont have the need for it anymore.

ALLRSDUP does your truck have the gears done or are you still riding with like 3.73's and 37's. The lift and tires kill mpg.

I was only interested in two trucks when I bought my F-150, a Tacoma X-Runner, and an F-150 Screw. I liked the X-Runner because I love sporty trucks. The X-Runner would have been far cheaper all around, for sure, but I managed to get a Lariat Scab for what I was willing to part with monthly, and the rest is history.

What a great thread. Dude with monster lift bitching about milage, in financial crisis yet still wants another new vehicle (after all, he'll lower his payments $100/mo!). I forgot who said it, but Darwin is alive and well indeed.
