I was on a bike like that (only much heavier and not as well built) probably about the same age the first time I went off my first jump. Mine was slightly bigger. It was my cousins he had set up at my uncles (his grandpa) house acros the road from me. It was an 8', 2x10 layed on a log at the bottom of a small hill. The log was about 2' tall.

I hit tha tramp wit heverything I had. The bike left the ramp and I left my seat. Did not let go of the handel bars though. As flew for that 2.5 seconds it seemed time had stopped. As I struggeled to get back on the bike before it landed. Some how my right leg got tangled in the spokes.of the rear wheel. I landed and teh wheel whipped around until my leg hit the frame and stopped it. I came skidding to a stop barely maintaining control. It was one of the sloppiest succesful jumps in history, but was a marvoulous first jump.

At that point I was hooked I had to get a bigger dirt bike so I could ride with my cousin and his firends. Soon I was building ramps theyd all come to jump off of and I got started racing BMX. Which later my need for speed and height led to motocross.

My bike was about like this...

Had solid plastic street tread tires and I'd ride that thing through everything but on the street because I wasn't allowed on the road.

I't s wonder I didnt slip and break bones using those tires in the grass, not to mention the mud. But once you conqured that the you could ride anything like a pro.

I wonder how much that thing would be worth now?

By the way;
Bigdad,
Tell your boy that I said ROCK ON!

I think I was 7 before I could ride a wheelie for more than 1/2 a pedal.
Ironically I conqured, endos, donkey kicks, stoppies and bunny hops befere I conqured wheelies.... LOL
