This hits home.... :(

This showed up on the front page of the paper today.
This hits home in more ways than one.

This is all I know so far,
Park brawl leaves one teen dead

The really really sad part is it was probbaly over something stupid and most likely over something someone told someone that someone said or did, but it was never realy said or done. The person was just trying to stir trouble between the two for thier own entertainment.

Hit home
1. Because there is a 99% chance this is the son of a good aquantance of ours, the lady that cuts all of our hair and who we have helped each other out many times over the last few years. This lady is as nice as she can be and she is also very cute but she has had a rough life. She also happens to be dating my next door neighbor and things were just starting to look up for her. There is a slim chance that there is another kid about the same age with the same name but not likely. Plus my wife said there were lots of cars at her house this morning as she drove by. We are awaiting further details to confirm the actual identity.

Hits home
2. I dont talk about this often and dont like to, but when I was that age I thought it was fun to fight, I use to LOVE it! Until one night when I was 18 I almost killed a guy. We all thought I had. It was a 4 of them on 3 of us brawl. I won't go into the gory details but We had droped it down to 3 on 3 and some of our friends were coming to help. As I watched him fall to the ground and go into convulsions, it scared the bejesus out of me and everyone else that was there. I literally droped to my knees and wept at what I had just done. It made me realize how fragile life is. It was just luck that I never recived any serious injuries that needed any medical attention. My guy laid in a coma state for 3 days.

It was technically self defense, as they were the ones that blocked us in and came at us with weapons. However I did not do anything to attempt to defuse the situation or get away, as a matter of fact, in retrospect, I instegated it. So I'm just as much to blame.

Let this be a lesson boys, if it's worth fighting for make sure it's worth dying for. If not, then leave. It's better to be thought a chicken than to do somethign stupid you will always regret, and hopefully it's you that gets to regret it.

It was my boy....

All over a girl....

Apparently from what has been gathered so far, him and 2 of his firends were waiting at the park to meet this guy to settle this dispute.

It was suppose to be a one on one fist fight but the guy brought more friends and they all brought baseball bats. Apparently they had not officially met before this event. They beat him to death with baseball bats. he wsa only 2 blocks from his house.....
Now I'm pretty cold, especially in altercations, but I'd have to be 1. be really extremely scared for my life or my fmaily. Or 2. I'd have to really really really hate someone to be that brutal.

Now he is dead and one of his friends are in the hospital in critical condition. They say the next 12 hours are extremly critical for him. The third guy was not as severly injured and was able to alert police.

Thanks for sharing your story PSS, it's good that you have learned. Fighting really is a stupid thing to do out of a controlled environment, and people seriously underestimate the consequences.

My older brother was playing a weekend football game when in college and someone ran his mouth all game to my brother- eventually my brother decided to settle it and took 1 swing. One swing later the guy was out cold, and had a broken jaw in 3 places. My brother ended up getting sued, and we lost our insurance, and about $45,000. He also lost about 20 pounds because he was sick about the whole situation and it ruined his life for a good year or more.

NOT worth it.

Thanks guys and ladies, His mom and sister are taking it extremly hard. Undestandably it's a major blow to them. They need every prayer they can get right now. May God give them swift justice and allow them to find peace, Amen.
