Angry Bicyclists - vent

WHY???? WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY do you a$$clowns have to ride your bicycles right on the white line when you have 3 feet of "bicycle lane" to the right of you? Why do I have to swerve into the oncoming traffic lane just to be sure I don't take out your head with my side mirror?

I ride but we don't have any bike lanes here, just paved trails, but the thought of an F250 (extended reach) mirror taking out a dude on a bike makes me cringe just thinking about it. Sure would be fun to watch on Break.com .

I always think the same thing especially on my way to work! It's like they think they have Mickey Thompson tires on those things !!

I hate those guys too, especially when they're decked out in full Lance Armstrong gear. Usually they hear my tires rolling up behind them and get way off the road so I dont have to swerve around them but they still look retarded.

Bike one day and I'll bet you find the answer to that question. I'm not sure what your roads are like but ours has tons of *****, debris, broken glass, etc. that cars kick to the curb. It's also difficult to pedal next to a curb; a pedal clipping the curb could be disastrous. BTW we don't have bike lanes here we have a 1-2 foot shoulder.

Well I take the back country roads and there are no curbs, just 3 feet of bike lane and then grass or dirt. I can understand the debris thing but riding ON the white line? I mean, you could say the same for motorcycles.... when I ride, I don't ride down the middle of the lane because that's where debris and oil and stuff settles, so I ride off to one side of the lane BUT NOT ON THE LINE! I just had to vent because these clowns don't EVER move over even when people are stopped behind them because there's oncoming traffic.

not having bikes lanes is one issue.

riding 3 and 4 across on roads without a bike lane is another.

that annoys the crap out out me.

What I really hate is when driving you come across some kids and one is ridding on one side of the road and you have another on the other side and they are both weaving in and out of the lanes so you don't know where you should go to get pass them.

I ****in hate cyclists around here. Dumb ****s will turn without even looking, and ya think theyd know, my truck is gonna win. And they never obey traffic signals, Ive had alot of close calls with them. Hell, one blew a red and went right over a friends fender and hood.

The freeway overpass I have to take to get to and from work has a sidewalk on each side they can use, there is no room on the road for them yet they do it anyways, backs up traffic horribly and its the same lane buses have to use. One dumbass was riding no hands and lost control if there was a vehicle next to me he would have gotten messed up big cause Im not gonna sideswipe a car into the median to avoid him.

Usually if I pass one in my lane Ill move over to the curb enough so they cant get past my mirror.

When i ride, i stay to the far right as possible. Not many bike lanes where i live, and the ones they do have are littered with broken beer bottles that the dumb rednecks throw at the cyclist for riding on the road. It's a viciaous cycle.. so to speak. If gas prices keep on keeping on, i'll make my bike my sole source of transportation. I don't hog the road by any means, but i do have every right to be on it. Not that it will matter when i finally do get splattered across someones truck grille. I do enjoy the excercise it and the scenery.. minus the beer bottle throwing and insult hurling.

If you really took back country roads, there shouldnt be that much oncoming traffic. so why not just swerve into the other lane around them? or is that too hard, i must not remember.

the roads i ride my mt bike on have shoulders, but theyre destroyed up to chunks, chunks to big to ride a bike on so i stay to the far right of the road, cars come and go, they just swerve around. Theyre country roads, thats what people do. Heck i could ride in the middle of the right lane and people would still go around me no problem. Especially if theres a lot of wind, its not always easy keeping a straight line depending on what kind of bike theyre on.

You have a horn, use it.
