Kobi,

Where are you moving to? I didn't read the entire thread.

I am out here in Nebraska, the heartland, much different then New Hampshire or California. Is this like a West coast, East coast meet up? I will say I really like it out here. It’s quiet and very, very little traffic so BE CAREFUL because it’s nothing to get on up to 80mph or more and not know it…

The people out here, in the heartland, are absolutely awesome people. They are very friendly and they don’t, at least in my opinion, attempt to judge you right off or give the impression that you’re currently under judgment.

Most people from the West coast and East coast will begin judging someone as soon as they meet them but I don’t find that here at all. They could care less, it’s true family values out here and no one, at least that I have meant, could give a damn what kind of car you have or how big your mortgage payment is.

If you’re going to be close by maybe we’ll have an opportunity to meet up. In any regards good luck on your move and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do…

Hold on there cowboy. Are you talking about the world in general, the mid-west, or your own hometown?

It wasn't too long ago you were singing the praises of the area. Seasons, lakes, good people . . .

I based my final decision to move to the hinterland out there on your recommendation. (OK, not really, but I might as well hold you responsible rather than myself . . . that's the American way!)

BURT! Long time bro. (Read this entire thread because it was written for you).

Well, you could have read the other thread entirely and you would have learned nothing more than Kansas. And for now, that's as specific as I'm gonna make it.

Tell me about it. Spent some time in and around KS last summer. Culture shock in the extreme sums it up pretty well. Actually, it's going to be like living on another planet for a while, and that assumes I will be able to adjust at all.

And that is one of the reasons I'm moving out there. Quiet. Really quiet. And NO. TRAFFIC. WHATSOEVER.

Yes, this is true of the folks here, and this is going to be both a blessing and a curse at the beginning as I am one of the costal big city slickers who is judgmental (I know, hard to believe) however, I am conscious of it and will try to keep it in check. In fact it is one of the reasons I am leaving Lost Angeles to undo the damage done to my person. I hope to decompress and become a regular person. Such a statement, and the term "regular person" demonstrates that I am truly an elitist snob, but there's hope. I am smart enough to know (plus I've had the benefit of early warning) that if someone like me from "the big city" goes in with a superior attitude, and tries to change those who have roots there to their way of thinking (for example, saying such things as "Well that's not how we did it Los Angeles") . . . well, those nonjudgmental people become judgmental really quickly, and they will shut you out faster than a cow fart destroys the atmosphere (I'm practicing my colloquialisms, but I don't think it's working). And well they should. If I move out there, I won't be living in Lost Angeles any more, so it really doesn't matter how things were done back there. If I can keep my eyes and ears open and my mouth shut (difficult for me but I'll try), I should be off to a good start. I will never get into discussions about religion or politics however, under any circumstances. Stating, for instance, that I think that the President and Vice President (and most of their administration) should be tried for war crimes and treason and then executed, doesn't go over well there.

Yeah . . . that's another thing I'd like to change about myself. This is a fairly small town I'm moving to. A lot of it is below the poverty line and some of the area is depressed. There are no Lexus dealers, no Mercedes dealers, no BMW dealers, no Nordstrom, no Saks, no Barney's . . . there's none of that. (Thankfully there is now a Starbucks). So all of that crap can't be there for me. One of the first things to go is probably going to be my car. So it goes. And I hope that will be a good thing. I'm buying a very, very, modest house. There are nice, big places there, but I don't need that. I have got to get away from all this crap here, and all the BS, and all the other stuff. I have a good number of friends there, all of whom left Lost Angeles within a period of two years of each other, and all of them have said it was the best thing they ever did. So I'm going for it.

You'll be north of me so I'm sure we can meet 1/2 way sometime. Thanks for the good wishes. See ya soon.

Yes I meant the world in general. This is the best choice, and a great refuge from the worst of it for the most part IMHO and I don't think you'll be sorry. It is like trying to pick the best cow pie out of a field. You soon find out that it is all crap, just some do not stink as much as the others. (there is another colloquialism for you )

Yea what ever you do, what ever you might say, what ever you think, DO NOT let those words escape your mouth!

The guranteed respose will be something to the lines of, "Does this look like Los Angeles to you?!?" or "Well this isn't Los Angeles, now is it?!?"

kobi notices he had a typo . . . should read ""Well that's not how we did it Los Angeles."

Yup. Gonna need some serious Clockwork-Orange-like social reconditioning.

Yep, I noticed the typo too, wasn't going to point it out but had intended on fixing it. Instead, I had to step away mid posting and by the time I got back I had forgot. I Sorry.

Blah, blah, blah. I'm so tired of hearing this. So what's the answer? End the population by not having anymore "spawn".

What would you rather hear? Lies? Do you want smoke blown up your rear?

To answer your question, yes 30-50 year or so with out human reprodutctoin would undoubtedly help society, the earth and the quality of existance for the current and future population.

Let me guess "One more wont hurt anything."?
Thats how we grow by billions a day. Because billions of people feel that one more won't hurt anything.

Just because there is plenty of food on the shelf at the store does not mean there is plenty of food.
Unless you have had your head buried in the sand for the last 20 years, then you know we are having trouble producing it fast enough, and it's only getting worse as our own over population is branching out taking away farm land for subdivisions and "development".

We have no desire to make anymore spawn, two and through, but we did practice the technique last night.
The odds of it being fruitful are astronomical but if it was then it would be devistating physically, mentaly, emotionaly and financialy.

I think you're blowing smoke up your own rear with that statement.
