Soda, or pop, or what?

Okay, in honor of the Dr Pepper thread, I want to know what YOUR term is for that sweet syrup-ie carbonated beverage....

I use both, soda, and pop. When in a resturant, I do order by name, ie Pepsi, Coke, etc...

It's all "soda" but then you have to get specific and order/ask for it by name. Pop is from the 1950

I use Soda, or pop, sometimes Soda-Pop, sometimes Soda Water, sometimes call it Sody, sometimes Cola, sometimes Cola Pop, sometimes Cola Drink, sometimes occasionlly but rarely soft drink. Just kind of what ever mood hits me when I say it. But yes when ordering anywhere, then I call it by brand name to insure I get the right thing and I dont take a drink of something expecting a different taste.

I speak by correct name. I'd guess, if I were to speak generic I would say Soda.

Ohh no, I can smell see and taste the difference, I can also tell a difference in a heart beat. Litterally!!! Coke-a-Cola is instant heartburn for me. I have Acid reflux and it has to much acid for me to keep down. Instant pain!!! Only time I buy it is to strip corrosion off a car battery until I can get home and take care of it properly.

Yea but I dont want a hairy chest!

Sometimes it's the only choice and if I have to choose between those 2 then I choose Pepsi. Otherwise it's Mt Dew, preferably Code Red, which is made and bottled by Pepsi co inc..

I call them all cokes generally. I mostly drink diet coke though, so that is what I would order in a restaurant.
