Scams...
Last night some Haitian (this is South Florida, there are lots of Haitians) rolled backwards into my truck at a red light. He was very confused, and obviously didn't know how to drive a stick because when the light turned green he just sat there, still resting on my front bumper. Now I hit a lot of stuff with my truck, so I wasn't too worried about it. I got tired of waiting for him to move so I just hit the gas and started pushing him into the intersection. While passing him, he started flashing his brights at me to pull over. I pulled off the road and he started accusing me of hitting him. We argued about it, he said that he wanted money to fix his car, and I told him to go **** himself. He started complaining that his bumper was scratched so I told him I was calling the police to fill out an accident report. As soon as he saw me dialing 911 he said he was okay and drove off.
Now I realize I was in the wrong also, but it pisses me off that he thought he could get money out of me for that. Unfortunately, scams like that take place all too often around here, as we have a very high population of scumbags (most of whom are here illegally). A few months back my grandmother was driving at night when a Haitian tried to pass her on the sidewalk with no headlights on and then hit the side of her van. He then tried to press charges saying that she ran him off the road.
Man, I've got to move.
