Mr. Squirell are you missing

any of your family members. I found this young fella today.

Heres the story. I go to the Post Office this morning to drop off mail. I get out of my truck and I here an animal crying its head off. As I walk up to doors I see a man kicking at a squirell. I dont think his intentions were to hurt it but each time he tapped it, it moved the critter a couple of inches. When I walked up he just shrugged his shoulders and walked off. It was just a baby I stopped and started to pet it for a second and it calmed down abit. I could not here momma calling at all and if she was around she would have been calling out. So I go back to my truck and got a tee shirt and bundled the little fellow up. As soon as he was covered up he instantly calmed down and by the time I got back to my office (5 min) he was sound a sleep. I uncovered his head and he pulled the shirt back over his face. I found a rehab in my town and dropped him off. I was told he appeared to be in good health, 6 weeks old and should do fine. He will be released when he is old enough. She did say it was very young for this time of the year.

Me too.

We usually find little bird chicks of all types that fall out of the nests this time of year. We know a local "bird lady" who cares for the little birds til they are old enough to fly away.

Goodluck with the squirrel.

i had something similar happen with a rabbit when i was mowing my pasture once. We took him in and then released him back once he was a couple of weeks older. Thats been about 2 years now.. He has made a nest under our motorcycle trailor and we still see him all the time. Now there are many rabbits though.(sorry im not sure how much sense this is making on some pain killers)

I helped out a squirrel 2 years ago. Found him at work, fed him for awhile, the I ate him.

J/K! I set him free.

I've always wanted to find a baby squirrel to keep as a pet. I remember going on a swamp tour near N.O and the tour guide had a squirrel that would ride on his shoulder and eat marshmellows
