Greetings to all FLORIDIANS here, I need some of your advise. I will be re-locating to Fla., Coral Springs, come mid to late Sept., can't wait, 41 winters here in RI., is quite enough thank you. What is it about your state do you LOVE/HATE the most. My inquiring mind would love to hear your thoughts, thanks so much.........

 

LOVE the beach , HATE the tourists

 

Love it! Welcome to Broward County fellow future Floridian. I live like 10 minutes away in Coconut Creek. I love the beach, deerfield beach to be exact. Other beaches like Ft. Lauderdale are good, but nothing like deerfield to get you in a good mood. Tourist are a downer, major. Especialy on I-95, but you get used to it Oh yeah, I hope you like good thunderstorms, they arent bad, they are acutualy cool. The rain and the lightning are pretty awsome. If you wanna know anything else bout where you are gonna live just ask. There are a couple of members on this board that live right around our area so just ask.

 

well are you going to live in coral springs, i live in deerfield beach(right next door to the east), we do have a great beach, but the parking sucks IMO(i got a ticket for parking after 11pm) Coral springs is booming, but be careful with the people, i used to live there and they can get pretty bitchy, but its like that all over south florida, if you are moving to Coral Springs, exactly where in it(not trying to stalk you, just curious to tell you whats fun around there)
oh and nuke, i haven't seen you in a while LOL

 

I live a bit to the north in West Palm Beach, but I work down in Fort Lauderdale. All I can say is I hope you speak Spanish lol.

Traffic is terrible and the old people who come down for the winter will drive you insane. I truly hate it here.

Definitely. The thunderstorms move in off of Lake Okeechobee almost daily in the late afternoon in the summertime (at least up here in West Palm) and they can be quite intense.

 

I hated sand gnats and love bugs. I loved the weather year round. It really doesn't get that hot.

this pretty much says it all. i'm up here in destin and when i get off work, now more so than winter, i feel like i'm still in atlanta

traffic sucks that badly!!!

it really doesn't bother me too much. it's just amazing how much there is. roads up here weren't planned out that well, there is only one way in/out here.

Cannot wait to get down there and buy my new Harley Fat Boy, was going to buy it up here, but just another thing to move, & for the State of RI. to tax me on......NO MORE WINTERS!!! Well I'm not a homeowner yet so I don't mind them so much lol. I actually somewhat enjoy them because it's a really good time for somebody like myself to make some money. Chainsaw, some rope and a 4x4 and you're in business.

 

Doesnt get that hot??? lol your nuts. I about pass out from cutting the grass in the summer. Hmm things I hate-snow birds, anyone who cant speak english(99% of the population), old people, hurricanes, constant rain in the summer so its pointless to wash your truck, property taxes, traffic. Things I like-beach, weather in the winter (about 3 weeks of the year), plenty of stuff to do. As you can tell I would rather live somewhere else even though I have lived here for 25 yrs but the wife wont leave all the family here.
