Dude...

That sucks!

You look to have about the same kind of luck as I do... although I have never dumped a $2k fridge on the highway.

My mom bought my dad a $600 recliner for their anniversary several years ago. She couldn't wait for me to get off work to go pick it up in my truck so she and my aunt decided to load it into an El Camino that my uncle had at the time.

About halfway home from the furniture store it caught a gust and flipped out the back onto the 4 lane... directly in front of a semi. Needless to say, there wasn't anything salvageable left of it.

Like some others have said, check with your homeowners insurance. It's worth a shot. They cover some odd things like theft of items from your vehicle (whether it's sitting at home or not). I learned that one from experience... twice.

I don't even know what to say. I saw Jamz new signature in another thread and wondered what in the heck was laying in the middle of the road and why did it look so new.

After reading the first post....now I know.

I can't even begin to describe how I would take this. All I cans say is that if HD is burnt to the ground and you're still alive....then you're doing well.

To think I was pissed when I paid $7 to leave the parking garage on Friday after work only to find they were letting everyone out for free....

if you payed with a home depot credit card just dont pay it, it will hurt your credit a little bit but its better than paying over $2,000.00, call your credit card company and explained and they will work with you believe me just be patient with them and they will try to help

Yeah, I paid with the Home Depot Card.

I actually thought about letting it charge off and have a note attached to it stating WHY it's a charge off......but I want to TRY and keep my credit squeeky clean.

I'm gonna talk to the store manager after work, and see if they can do anything as far as reducing the amount I owe (drop the extended warrenty I purchased, etc). If not, they can take a flying suck at my powder white ****.

*fingers are crossed*

It was his fault, not the credit card companies. Why don't people take responsibilities for their actions.

I know Jamyz will do the right thing.

All I can say is that sucks dude, I feel your pain, but THANKS for making my Monday a little more bearable! That's a terrible but funny story! Just about everyone's got a story like that, the law of averages eventually catches up with most of us. Good luck!

I feel your pain, I too lost thousands of dollars.
The same thing happened to me this weekend except it was an ATM machine and I didn't go back and pick it up.

Keep trying!
And keep enough to buy a new fridge.
You can send what's left to me.

and if there's any cops reading this we can get a cell together.

By the way, auto insurance doesn't cover this:

"All-Farm Insurance, may I help you?"

"Yes, something fell out of the back of my truck and broke. Is it covered?"

"What fell out, sir?"

"An ATM machine."

"What was an ATM machine doing in the back of your truck?"

"..........I'm sorry, I have the wrong number"

Jamz, here's what you do.

Take what's left of that thing, and throw it in your front yard. Get a claw hammer and beat the door **** and lock off your front door. Whack a few holes in the walls leading to the kitchen, tear the kitchen to shreds, dispose of the hammer. Call your insurance company and report a break in/burglary attempt.

Okay, that'll probably land you in jail, but it's just a thought.
