Your homeowners policy and maybe your auto policy might cover most of it (fingers crossed) As you pointed out in your tale, delivery was not available to you so you had to try to do it yourself (well, you didn't have to but you get the idea . . . )
Call your insurance company (try homeowners first I would guess) and see what they say.
