Yeah, but Jr's got that infamous last name behind him. That makes everything strawberries and cream.

Gordon has earned everything he's gotten. How can anyone say he hasn't? He'll be the next Earnhardt in the longrun, and IMHO today he's better than big E ever was.

Yeah, there are still guys around here sporting the number "3" on their cars, caps, bowties, etc...

As for the way Gordon beat Jr., that's funny...

No one likes it when their team is losing, out of time outs, and the other team, instead of playing, snaps the ball and takes a knee.

I hated that too...

But, it was so cool to do that, when you're winning... That seems akin to what Jeff did.

If I was Jeff, I'd have done the same thing. I'd have kept it around 34/35, just in case, but nothing too risky. The gola is to win, not to give the other guys a chance at winning.

I guess I'm just dirty... I'm the kind of guy that'll have you down 93 / 7 with two minutes remianing, will do an onside kick.
Al my starter would be on the bench, though!

Maybe they don't know he's dead? Wait, there is the "Elvis" factor.

I don't deny that he's a great driver. Just don't try to tell the Earnhardt fans that.

I like Gordon. From the time he started racing Nascar when i was younger up until this day. I don't watch it as much as I used to but i do watch it every now and then. I think he is a good driver. He has made some mistakes and such but that comes with every driver. I usta like Tony Stewart when he was in IRL partly due to the company my dad work for sponsered his car but I really don't care a whole lot for him now. The only part I like is he owns Eldora which is a kick *** track

I would, and they're always too drunk to be able to do anything about it.

??????? How in the heck is that underhanded??? I can't agree with that at all.

Dale won the race, but Jeff could have run better if he needed to. The 24 team took it so easy that race that Ray even worked as a front tire carrier for two of the pit stops ..

Jeff had a hell of a USAC career, and was doing very well in Busch when Rick saw him .. Everyone else (other cup teams) had just assummed that Jeff was tied to Ford and Bill Davis, but Rick actually looked into it, and found out that Jeff had no contractural ties at all concerning Winston Cup, and signed him immediately.

The Earnhardt fans all hate Jeff because they are too pin headed to understand that Dale Sr. didn't hate Jeff at all.. Jeff races as well as he does at restrictor plates races because Sr. taught Jeff how to draft, etc.

the last marketing numbers I saw showed that almost 75% of hard core NASCAR fans follow the 8, 24, or 20.. almost 50% follow the 8 .. therefore by sheer numbers it seems like most people hate Gordon.

Jeff is a hell of a driver, and the only other guy in the garage that should ever be mentioned in the same breath with him, talent wise, is smoke.

Yeah, but smoke's routine is getting old quick.

Maybe underhanded is the wrong term. I thought it was kinda lame, just cruising around instead of pushing it to the limit, but he did win the championship.
