quick update here on my stolen '04 screw. she has been found about 1500 miles east of here. some guy was using her to move back east. according to the police the right front door locked is popped out and the ignition is punched out. i still don't know how he beat the PATS but my insurer has agreed to bring her back home and make the repairs. i think i am happy but will wait until i see just how much damage there is before i start doing a happy dance.

I wish you the best but I guess things are much different in Canada with insurance compared to what I have gone through here in the state of California after my thefts.

How do you go from last week ending on Friday the 28th they won't cover you or pay out because you still have your key,
to they are picking it up 1500 miles away and fixing it no questions asked on Monday the 30th?
Forget that question........
Glad you are getting your truck back and you did not have to try and beat the insurance company with information on how to bypass the PATS SYSTEM

just had lunch with a friend and he stated that he got his stolen...and had mentioned that he had a remote start and put the chip from his key into the remote start system...it was an aftermarket one not a ford one...he stated that they had to do it or the truck would not remote start...he stated that he would then get in the truck and put the key in and work like all other remote starts...so maybe if the column is broken and it has a remote start the remote start has the pat sensor in it for him to steal like a 250/350

if this was on the up and up .. (don't believ it was) it is entirely possible that the insurance company would now be agreeable ..

if the whole issue was they didn't believe the truck was stolen .. the police finding it 1500 miles away, in a damaged condition kind of puts the not stolen concerns to rest ..

I would like to see pics of the truck prior to it getting fixed .. and a copy of the police report.
