I think i need help....
I think i need help....
Thats right, i need help i have a bad habit during boredom.
I built this a while back, mid 06 or so.
The 1/6 scale truck was aquired thru ebay and is wonderfully detailed down to the fold in mirrors and black plastic bedcaps. Unfortunantly the electrical components are pretty shotty and it has no suspension... its a rigid frame. I plan on extending a nitro powered rc chassie and suspension to use on it in the future and ditching the spinners as well as making a new front bumper to make it look better. i dont like that ugly ricer lip. The nitro will come soon and i may have the connections to actually have my real wheels (see sig) cut out of billet alumium, but thats a whole nother thread that we'll get to later.
The day UPS dropped of the large box my younger brother had it out of the package in record time and had the battery already charging when i got home. here it is in the doorway to his room.

He drove it around till it was dead.. so i figured it had a good break in period.
Time to mod it up.
Two hours after it was delivered it was on the floor of our laundry room completely taken apart...

... and in the "spray booth"

Look at the shine on that tailgate!

So while the paint dried i went back inside and started looking at all the little things that i had scattered.
Upon seeing that the headlights came apart i had a wonderfull idea. HIDs for it.
Heres a 5mm hyperwhite LED i had left over from another project. I bent it up so that it resembles a lighting fixture
within the headlight.

I got a battery and tested the reflectivity of it.. and i was instantly blinded. after i regained sight i snapped this pic.

The Taillights got their share of leds too, but in a less intense format and in red

Shot of the truck back together and the headlights and tails wired up and working.

That satisfied my bug for a few days.
Then the weekend came and i felt it needed a little more...
so i cut out the H-bar grille.

And with the help of some pliers and an aluminum coat hanger or two...
i made this

so i cut out the H-bar grille.

i made this
I cut off the excess ends with the help of a die grinder and then
i then sprayed it entirely flat black, sanded down the face and polished up the ends.. and put it back together

i reassembled it and took it out for a test drive.

Some people say im nuts.. some say i have too much time and too much money to spend on crap like this... and some
(mostly my parents) just shake their heads and laugh and secretly wish they were this creative.
I think im just well motivated.
The little 1/26 scale is radio controled too and it recently recieved the billet grille treatment up front as well as in the
bumper hole. Its gonna get drilled for "fog lights" soon

Even i think i have a problem sometimes... or a bad habit... or maybe its an obsession?
Ive been telling my dad that stuff like this keeps me off the streets and not doing drugs, he replies that if i were doing
drugs it would be much cheaper.

Thanks guys,
Keeps me out of trouble i guess.
Dzervit new avi? i liked the old one better. Oh and im a lazy fat bastard too.. well not too fat.
And Ezy.. there are TONS of ext cabs, you can buy them all day long, its these supercrews that are kinda hart to find in the new body style.
The only one i have found so far in a die cast is the hotwheels UAVs and those have a huge lift with massive tires. Ive already cut one up and made it resemble 2wd.
Maybe ill buy an Ext cab and cut the interior apart so i can place the wheel on the right side just for you
