Did you do a service on it or something?

An E4OD holds around 15 or 17 quarts of fluid including the converter.

no it just started slipping it only has 60000 original miles. my wife got it stuck this winter and i ended up towing it home thinking she burned up the clutches. i finally got it in my garage and when i pulled the stick nothing showed. i kept adding fluid but there is noway it should have went from running to no fluid. it has never had a leak.

Why would you even try to drive it if you don't have any fluid registering on the dipstick?

Keep pouring until you see it on there, and then try it, but I'm going to guess that you have burnt up that tranny, and it's time to get a new one.

For future reference, if you don't see oil on the stick, don't try and drive it until you do.

If she had it stuck, and was rocking it for too long, that could blow trannie fluid right out the overflow. That will heat up the fluid real quick.
