Wow!
My old neighbor had a 89 F-150, 302 auto, and his throttle positioning sensor stuck one time when he was in the line for the window at the bank, and he shut it off before he hit anyone, but he did cut a heck of a donut before he got it shut down. Still am calling b.s. on the story, though, could have knocked it in neutral, shut it off, something...If they were building speed in a parking lot, they clearly had time driving on a straight part long enough to build up speed, and that's time to get over the initial shock, but who knows, maybe some people panic so much that they never do calm down enough to think clear enough to know what to do in the situation.

Just for a test tonight I got up to like 50 floored it and then hit the brakes stop with no problem at all so unless this guy has alot more power then me I'm calling B/S
